Community College Launches Late May ‘Contact Tracing’ Course
The Community College of Allegheny County is now offering a noncredit course that trains individuals to do contact tracing, an essential way to track and slow the spread of COVID-19. Developed with local and regional health authorities, the course will provide up to 45 hours of training delivered online through Zoom.
Gold Scholar Reflects on Key to Success, Rejoices at Scholarship
“My parents raised me to do my best, and that’s what I’ve done here at Northampton Community College,” said Laura Rex, a 2020 Coca-Cola Gold Scholar. “One of my proudest moments was when I ran for an officer position in my college’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter. I never imagined it would lead to a full scholarship.”
New Scholarship Created for Second Year Nursing Students
Students from  Butler County Community College (BC3) can apply for $200,000 in scholarships before July 1, the college recently announced. Approximately 70 percent of BC3 students graduate debt-free as a result of BC3’s affordable tuition, financial aid and more than 100 available scholarships.

In a recent Letter to the Editor published in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Opinion Editorials, Dr. Victoria L. Bastecki-Perez, Interim President and Provost of Montgomery County Community College, urges students to consider community college as the COVID-19 pandemic creates uncertainty about educational delivery this fall.

Congratulations to the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) Nursing Program on receiving re-accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing . The CCBC program achieved a 96 percent pass rate on the NCLEX Exam in 2019.
