Advanced Manufacturing Pipeline Bolstered by Community Colleges
The Community College of Allegheny County recently hosted an Advanced Manufacturing Advisory Council meeting to develop strategies to create a pipeline of trained individuals to fill manufacturing careers in the region. The goal of the meetings is to bridge the trained worker gap in manufacturing and other in-demand fields.
Community College Transforms Life of Philadelphia Nurse
When a doctor where Marie Gates worked told her she would make a great nurse, she began looking for affordable colleges that would allow a flexible schedule. She found the nursing program at Community College of Philadelphia and now, after completing her coursework, received a job offer from the prestigious Cleveland Clinic earning twice what she made previously.
Vice President Offers Broadband Comments at Senate Committee
Dr. Celeste Schwartz, Montgomery County Community College Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Digital Officer, today participated in a Broadband Roundtable Discussion before the Senate Communications & Technology Committee. She shared that community college students struggle to complete coursework due to lack of internet access.
