Community colleges play an important role in educating and training current and future generations of workers,
in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Colleges Provide Training for Philadelphia Maritime Workers
The Collegiate Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development, which includes Bucks County Community College, Community College of Philadelphia, Delaware County Community College, Montgomery County Community College and others, is developing a training curriculum (page 17) for maritime workers.
Community Colleges Turn Student Dreams into Reality
Many young Pittsburgh Pirates fans dream of operating the JumboTron at PNC Park. Through a program and internship offered by the Community College of Allegheny County, Nathan Sibley is doing just that! More than 90 percent of students live and work in the community following graduation from CCAC, says President Quintin B. Bullock.
Colleges Provide Training for Philadelphia Maritime Workers
Thank you to the more than 200 volunteers who participated in the 4 th Annual "Rock the Block" revitalization effort organized by Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware counties and Pottstown CARES, a partnership between Montgomery County Community College, Pottstown School District, the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations.
Luzerne Students and Faculty Recognized with Awards
Two students and a faculty member from Luzerne County Community College were recently recognized by the American Advertising Federation of NEPA with 2019 ADDY Awards .

Students Michelina Leonard and Sierra Gorzokowski received a Gold ADDY Award in the student division. Chris Vida , assistant professor of Communication Arts, received a Gold ADDY Award and Judge’s Choice Award.
