Community Colleges to Testify before House Committees
The president of Northampton Community College will testify before the House Education Committee on February 24 at 10:00 a.m. Presidents from Community College of Beaver County; HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College; Westmoreland County Community College; and the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges President & CEO will testify before the House Appropriations Committee on March 1 at 3:00 p.m. Tune in on PCN to watch live!
Current Postsecondary Student Shares College Advice
Samantha Raymond recently reached out to Great College Advice to write a guest blog. In it, she shares her experience at a community college and a university, talks about stigma against some sectors of higher education and dispels stereotypes. She says that she appreciates the diversity of the learning environment at Montgomery County Community College.
Expanded Transfer Agreement Offers 25 Percent Tuition Discount
Pennsylvania Highlands Community College (Penn Highlands) and Saint Francis University recently expanded its articulation agreement to include additional educational pathways. Graduates of Penn Highlands will receive a 25 percent tuition discount for Saint Francis programs and courses included in the agreement.
Meet Kate: Home School Student Takes Dual College Classes
Kate Foley decided she was going to take advantage of dual enrollment programs at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, while in high school. She said, “As a homeschool student looking for challenges, HACC was the perfect fit for me. I have nearly complete freedom to choose classes that interest me. It’s the perfect transition between high school and college life.”
