in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Ventilators Loaned to Local Health Systems by Community College
A Pennsylvania community college is loaning its respiratory equipment during the coronavirus pandemic. Geisinger Holy Spirit borrowed four ventilators and a non-invasive BiPAP breathing unit, and Penn State Health borrowed four ventilators after HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, offered its equipment to meet an anticipated shortage in the region.
Community College Programs Donate Needed Medical Supplies
Pennsylvania community colleges are supporting medical professionals during the COVID-19 outbreak. The Community College of Allegheny County donated gloves, isolation gowns and masks to Allegheny County Emergency Services. Butler County Community College donated supplies to Concordia Lutheran Ministries and Butler Health System.
Culinary Arts Institute Chef Offers Cooking Tips during Quarantine
Trying to make the most of what's in your kitchen? Chef Can Uslu of Montgomery County Community College's Culinary Arts Institute will help you put your ingredients to good use with some delicious recipes. This week she's offering tips for preparing vegetables, including broccoli, asparagus and green beans!
