Community colleges play an important role in educating and training current and future generations of workers,
in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Leaders, Students to Advocate on Community College Day this Week
During Community College Day on Thursday, April 15, students, trustees, presidents, and staff from Pennsylvania’s community colleges will collectively advocate for an increased funding level in the 2021-22 fiscal year budget. The proposed budget by Gov. Tom Wolf does not include an operating or capital funding increase for the colleges, though it does provide funding to establish a 15th community college in Erie. 
Students Celebrated for Excellence on Community College Day
The 27th Annual All-Pennsylvania Academic Team will be honored with a celebratory video that will be posted to Facebook on Thursday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. The 2021 awardees include 46 outstanding community college transfer scholars and 15 exceptional workforce pathway scholars from across the Commonwealth.
