in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Philly High School Student Earns Diploma and College Credits
Kishon Carter found his path to success through Gateway to College, a Community College of Philadelphia alternative program for Philadelphia School District students who have dropped out of high school, but show academic promise. Following his recent graduation, Carter departed for Navy boot camp with a high school diploma and 39 college credits.
Training Offers Hands-On Learning to Community College Students
Pennsylvania community colleges believe in hands-on learning opportunities, like the on-site training program that allows brewing science students from HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, to create their own beer at Zeroday Brewing Company.
Delaware County Community College President
Elected to Elite Board of Directors
Dr. L. Joy Gates Black , president of Delaware County Community College , was recently elected to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Board of Directors. AACC represents the nation’s 1,051 community colleges and is governed by a 32-member board. Ten community college presidents were recently elected to serve on the AACC’s Board of Directors. The new board members will begin their terms on July 1 and join 22 existing members.
