Meet Bailey: Saving on Higher Education with Community College
Some community college students, like Bailey Hackenberry, enroll in summer or winter classes to earn credits that transfer to another institution. Mr. Hackenberry, who is studying finance and economics, said he chose to attend HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, because it was a convenient and more affordable way to earn extra credits towards his degree.
Interest is Growing in Short-Term, Online Credentials Amid Pandemic
A recent article by Inside Higher Ed says, "A growing body of evidence has found strong consumer interest in skills-based, online credentials that are tied to careers, particularly among adult learners from diverse and lower-income backgrounds, whom four-year colleges often have struggled to attract and graduate."
Mother of Five Fulfills Educational Aspirations through Free Program
Fifteen years ago, teen mom Beth Dinger was convinced she had to abandon her pursuit of a high school diploma, and with it, her childhood dreams. Butler County Community College's free adult literacy program changed all that. It prepares students to take General Education Development (GED) examinations that measure proficiency in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. 
Community College President Touts the Value of Education

New skills and experiences allow you to thrive in your current job, adapt to any changing work conditions, and position you for new employment opportunities," says Dr. Steve Nunez, President of Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, in a recent submission to the Tribune-Democrat.
