in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Community College Re-Skills Dislocated Workers for Free
To help close the gap between worker skills and employer demand, Bucks County Community College is offering a seven-week office technology training program for unemployed or underemployed individuals. The course is ideal for individuals who are comfortable working with computers and looking to start a new career in office administration or customer service.
Meet Derek: Nontraditional, Modern College Student
“Yesterday's ‘nontraditional’ student is today’s modern student,” said Derek Eberly, a current HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, student in his 30s pursuing a degree in photography. As a “nontraditional” student, Derek said that the HACC Foundation scholarships he received were critical to his success.
Community College Celebrates New Diversity Murals
Lehigh Carbon Community College recently celebrated the completion of the “Wall on Hall” street art mural project with a dedication in downtown Allentown. The murals, celebrating the theme of diversity and inclusion, received funding support from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Lehigh Valley Arts Council.
