Community colleges play an important role in educating and training current and future generations of workers,
in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Community Colleges Offer Students Seamless Online Pathway to Bachelor's Degree
During a virtual signing and news conference last week, 14 Pennsylvania community college presidents announced a new partnership and articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University, which allows transfer students to complete their bachelor’s degree online with a 10 percent tuition reduction.  
Private Pilot Ground Training Offered by Community College
Bucks County Community College has partnered with Infinity Flight Group to offer a private pilot ground school training. Attendees will prepare for the Federal Aviation Administration’s written exam during the 10-week course. Subjects will include aircraft systems, aerodynamics, flight instruments, navigation, weather, flight planning, regulations and airspace.
Dual Enrollment Programs Offer Pathways to Skilled Trades
Community colleges like the Community College of Beaver County are trying to remove the negative perception associated with skilled trades through dual-enrollment programs. The program was created with the knowledge that 63 percent of all Pennsylvania jobs will require some form of post-secondary education or training by 2025.
