Community colleges play an important role in educating and training current and future generations of workers,
in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Students Need Pandemic Relief
In a recent submission to The Atlantic, Sara Goldrick-Rab, professor of sociology and medicine as well as president and founder of the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice wrote, "across the nation, college students are struggling to cover basic needs and are unsure if they can afford tuition for the spring semester... not all students are privileged enough to have a family safety net..."
Take a "Mental Health Minute"
Through a series of videos published on YouTube, Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) is educating students and faculty about mental health conditions like anxiety or warning signs that someone may be considering suicide. The videos also include information on how to successfully manage anxiety or stress. LCCC also has campus resources available for students who need additional support.
