in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Our Colleges Need Your Help!
Community colleges are in desperate need of federal stimulus relief. You can help by reminding lawmakers that community colleges are vital to reskilling and upskilling the more than two million displaced Pennsylvania workers, are critical to educating and training for in-demand and pandemic-related professions, and are key to Pennsylvania’s economic recovery.
New and Unique Programs are "Brewing" at Colleges this Fall
Community colleges are agile, partnering with local employers to quickly respond to shifting workforce needs. This fall, Bucks County Community College is introducing six new majors, including Brewing & Fermentation; while Lehigh Carbon Community College is offering short-term programs in the healthcare field.
Community College President Touts Training in COVID-19 Wake
"Individuals in underserved communities have been particularly hard hit by Covid-19," said Dr. Quintin Bullock, president of the Community College of Allegheny County, in a recent submission to the Pittsburgh Business Times. "Job training programs will need to be creative and include community-based organizations that are trusted among their neighbors..."
