in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Community College Offers Free Classes to Unemployed Residents
Auditor General Eugene DePasquale and the PA Department of Health recently held a press conference to discuss a shortage of healthcare workers in the Commonwealth. Bucks County Community College is partnering with 
Teaching Teachers: High School Partners with Community College
Muhlenberg High School recently partnered with Reading Area Community College to offer teachers the opportunity to learn Spanish. About 30 Muhlenberg faculty members took the course. Over several weeks they learned basic words and phrases and studied the experiences of those who lived in Spanish-speaking countries.
Meet Josh: This College Alumnus is Prepared for His Next Steps
Josh Duty - a HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College alumnus - graduated with a degree in computer information security. Josh now works in the Information Technology department of Landis Homes Retirement Community and knows community college, as he puts it, “can prepare you for the future in more than one way.”
PBS News Hour Touts Benefits Learning a Skilled Trade at Community College
After decades of pushing bachelor’s degrees, the United States has identified a need for more skilled trades workers. Community colleges  are ready to assist with existing training and certificate programs, in addition to partnering with local employers to identify gaps in skills training and create new programs to meet those needs.

Two-Week Community College Training Program Guarantees Job Interview for Graduates
Graduates of a new two-week natural gas and oil safety training program offered by  Bulter County Community College  are guaranteed a job interview from an agency that places graduates in regional entry-level positions in the energy industry . Upon completion of the field safety technician certificate program – which also includes the basics of geology in oil and natural gas, of flowback operations, of production equipment and of pipeline construction and safety – students receive an interview with Temp2Tech .
