Community College Offers Free Classes to Unemployed Residents

Teaching Teachers: High School Partners with Community College
Muhlenberg High School recently partnered with
Reading Area Community College to
offer teachers the opportunity to learn Spanish. About 30 Muhlenberg faculty members took the course. Over several weeks they learned basic words and phrases and studied the experiences of those who lived in Spanish-speaking countries.

Josh Duty - a
HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College alumnus - graduated with a degree in computer information security. Josh now works in the Information Technology department of
Landis Homes Retirement Community and knows community college,
as he puts it, “can prepare you for the future in more than one way.”
PBS News Hour Touts Benefits Learning a Skilled Trade at Community College
After decades of pushing bachelor’s degrees, the United States has identified a need for more skilled trades workers. Community colleges are ready to assist with existing training and certificate programs, in addition to partnering with local employers to identify gaps in skills training and create new programs to meet those needs.
