Colleges Respond to PA Budget
The Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges and leaders from Pennsylvania’s 14 community colleges expressed disappointment that the 2019-20 fiscal year budget proposed by Gov. Tom Wolf does not provide an operating or capital funding increase for the colleges.
Community Colleges Prepare Students for Skilled Trades
When Andrew Nolan graduates from HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, he will have the knowledge and skills to excel in a technically challenging career in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, or HVAC. “I’ll have the hands-on experience and a degree from HACC that will make me much more appealing to employers,” said Andrew of the associate degree.
In-Demand CDL Training Is Offered by PA Community Colleges
Companies will need many more truck drivers in the coming years.  Community College of Allegheny County, Community College of Beaver County, Delaware County Community College, HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Luzerne County Community College, Northampton Community College and Community College of Philadelphia all offer CDL certification!
Film Technician Student Named WQED Next Generation Fellow
Ash Warren, a film technician student at Community College of Allegheny County, has been named a Next Generation Fellow at WQED in Pittsburgh. Through the program, Ash is enhancing production skills and gaining real-world experience in the field of filmmaking. 
Montgomery County Community College appoints new executive director of Workforce Development & Continuing Education 
Gregory Skelley has been appointed the new Executive Director of Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Montgomery County Community College . In this position, he will lead the College’s Workforce Development initiatives, build and maintain relationships with employers and organizations, foster partnerships and develop training programs to meet industry needs.
He previously held leadership positions with the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University and Stevens Institute of Technology , among others.
