Parallel Technologies to Design and Build Cologix's Enterprise Grade Data Center in Minneapolis

Parallel Technologies announced it has been selected as the winning design-build technology infrastructure firm to double Cologix's network neutral data center footprint in Minneapolis's most connected building.

Cologix is Minneapolis's largest neutral colocation provider. Their new data center will add 28,000 square feet to its leading position at the 511 11th Avenue building in downtown Minneapolis, where Cologix operates the Meet-Me-Room, facilitating access to more than 70 networks. Cologix has designed a fully concurrent maintainable facility, reinforcing its unique proposition to savvy enterprises looking for the combination of hyper reliability, carrier choice and rapid, easy access for their IT staff. The data center will be Cologix's 21st across eight markets in the US and Canada.

In parts 1 & 2 of this series, Nate Clyde, Director of Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Delivery, talked about the "Misinterpretation of Power Trends" and how those can lead to either under or over-procurement of data center assets.

I could not agree more. Under-procurement could be a job-ending event, and over-procurement can be equally as dangerous. Building the right-sized data center and supporting technology infrastructure depends on understanding the Ebb and Flow of the data center.

at MN Government IT Symposium

Parallel Technologies', Aaron Brendel, was selected by the Minnesota Government IT Symposium to present, "Cloudy, with a Chance of Elasticity,"at its upcoming event in December. Brendel's 60 minute presentation is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2014 - Session 80, from 2:45 - 3:45 pm.

This is the 33rd Annual event for State Agencies, Local Governments, Higher Education, and Non-Profits. It will be held December 9 - 11, 2014, at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, MN.
