Dear Friends of Parish Health Ministry,
As we begin this new year, it is my hope that it will be a year filled with blessings for you and your loved ones. We are excited about the upcoming Refresh Your Soul Conference featuring Dr. Eben Alexander, the bestselling author of Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife. His story is quite compelling. We hope you will join us on March 1st. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless and guide your ministry.
In His Name,
Jeanne Palcic, MGS, RN

Success Spotlight:
They "Walked to Bethlehem" in Search of the Christ Child
Marty Cottrill of St. George's Episcopal Church, Dayton, found the Walk to Bethlehem program appealing and volunteered to organize it. Although this program can be done successfully with the information in the program packet, Marty "went the extra mile" to give the congregation an experience in history they would never forget. Journeying through Grief
Respectfully and compassionately helping others in their grief process is a complicated, sometimes difficult process. After some of our partnering churches had expressed a desire for an actual program to address grief, ERH Parish Health Ministry partnered with The Stephen Ministries to offer "Journeying through Grief" - a simple, well-written, accessible program for those who have lost a loved one. The Yellow Dot Program
ERH Parish Health Ministry continues to promote one of its latest initiatives, The Yellow Dot Program. The program places yellow dots on automobiles, which alert First Responders (EMS, paramedics, FD) and Emergency Room personnel to vital medical information in case of an automobile accident. When rescuers have access to this information, it saves time during the crucial "golden hour" of treatment immediately following an accident. The Yellow Dot Program could mean the difference between life and death. For more information, contact Rose Lindeman at [email protected]. |
Why I Give to ERH Parish Health Ministry...
By The Rev. Dcn. Phyllis Armstrong
"For many years I have been involved with parish health issues as a volunteer, nurse, and deacon. This effort has certainly been challenging, but also deeply rewarding. It allows us to serve not only our parish family but the wider community as well. ERH Parish Health Ministry has provided valuable leadership, support and educational programs to aid this service. With gratitude I have made contributions to its funds and urge all to do so as well."

Spiritual Corner:
"Patience produces results. Patience lets me take a step back and ask, 'What would Christ do in this situation?' The answer to this question will always come when patience is present, and the patient answer will always bring me peace. I am not mandated to react to this world; I can merely respond with pearls of patience and open my arms to receive the perfection of God that cannot be denied."
