Partners in Housing is incredibly grateful to The Myron Stratton Home for providing us with such a wonderful space for our Lincoln Donation Center. Their kindness has allowed us to offer clothing, household goods, furniture, and other necessities at no cost to the families in our program.
Every coat we hang, dish we place on a shelf, and piece of furniture we deliver to a family begins with someone choosing to give. We are so thankful for the many neighbors who have contributed to our Donation Center over the years and continue to fill this space with their generosity. Together, these contributions keep everyday resources accessible to families while they pursue their individual goals and work toward greater stability.
What Can I Donate?
Families can choose from a wide variety of donated items, including:
- New or gently used clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, and household items
- Kitchen essentials, such as dishes, cookware, and utensils
- New and unopened hygiene and cleaning products
- New, unopened, and unexpired nonperishable food
- Supplies for new baby, birthday, welcome, and graduation housewarming baskets
- New or gently used furniture*
* Furniture donations require advance approval.
Have Something to Give?
Come see us on Tuesday mornings! Our Donation Center accepts donations from 9 a.m. to noon at 450 Gold Pass Heights. Volunteers are available to help bring in your items and provide a donation receipt.
Stay Connected
On average, we serve more than 200 families each year, which means our needs are always changing. Be sure to follow Partners in Housing on social media @partnersinhousingcos to stay connected, see our current and high-priority needs, and discover more ways to support families in our community.
Together, the generosity of our neighbors keeps our Donation Center stocked with resources families can access throughout their time with Partners in Housing.

Since 1991, Partners in Housing has been committed to providing the most effective services to support the Partner families in our program.
We assess program outcomes for reporting and use the measurements for internal evaluation to ensure we continue to evolve in our service delivery. We use many methods of tracking Partners’ hard work and progress and are pleased to share these core outcomes with you!

What it all means
Improved Housing: % of families that successfully moved on to their own stable housing after exiting our one-year Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
Improved Self-Sufficiency: % of families that improved their overall self-sufficiency showing increased confidence, accountability, and the application of new life skills.
Improved Job Preparedness: % of adults that are more employable after attending our one-on-one Work It! Sessions. In these sessions, clients work on their resume, participate in mock job interviews, take career assessments, and work on building other skills that increase their likelihood of securing that next job opportunity.
Improved Income: The number of families that have a higher income exiting our program than when they entered.
Improved Employment: % of families that improved their employment situation. This could be a higher wage, more benefits, and opportunity for advancement.
Improved Education: % of families that improved their formal education. This can range from getting their GED to receiving a college degree. This measure varies based on the families' needs and ability to start a formal education program.
| | Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Kam Fletcher | | |
Kam Fletcher started volunteering with us 11 years ago, and we are honored to have her on our volunteer team. She connected with Partners in Housing through one of our amazing community supporters and first served on the Board of Directors before transitioning to volunteering at our Child Enrichment Center (CEC) and, most recently, serving on our Development Committee. Today, Kam continues to give her time each month and remains a dedicated member of our volunteer community.
Some of Kam’s favorite memories have come from volunteering at activities that bring parents and children in our program together. Our annual Holiday Shopping Event is a particular favorite of hers, as she especially enjoys seeing families celebrate one another and share in the excitement of the holiday season.
For anyone interested in getting involved, Kam recommends attending one of our Lunch & Learns as a great way to connect with Partners in Housing and learn more about our work with families experiencing homelessness.
Outside of volunteering, Kam channels her creativity into her business, The Haphazard Sourdough Baker, where she shares her love for food and baking with others in the community.
Thank you, Kam, for more than a decade of service with Partners in Housing and for supporting our families in so many different ways. We are incredibly grateful for your continued commitment to our mission and the families we serve!
| | New tax deduction for charitable contributions | | |
For the first time in years, Americans who do not itemize will be able to deduct charitable contributions: up to $1,000 for individuals and $2,000 for married couples. Prior to this change, unless your total deductions exceeded the standard deduction threshold — somewhere in the mid-$20,000s for couples — your charitable gift wasn’t tax deductible.
Make your donations before Dec. 31, 2026, to gain any tax advantages. Please always consult a professional tax advisor regarding your particular circumstances.
| | Partners in Housing benefits from the Empty Stocking Fund | | |
The Empty Stocking Fund provides resources for 20 local health and human service agencies in the Pikes Peak region on the front lines of helping people in crisis and assisting others in attaining self-sufficiency. Partners in Housing is honored and privileged to be one of the recipient agencies of the Empty Stocking Fund.
Every dollar donated can grow up to half thanks to matching grants from El Pomar Foundation, The Bruni Foundation and Chapman Foundations. All administrative costs are covered by Gazette Charities Foundation, The Anschutz Foundation, El Pomar Foundation, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, Edmondson Foundation and ADD Staff which means 100% of donations go directly to partner agencies. All money granted to agencies through ESF comes as general operating dollars which means partner agencies can use it the way they see fit to move missions forward.
The Empty Stocking Fund campaign runs between Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26, 2026), through Jan. 22, 2027. There are three ways to donate:
-
Online at https://emptystockingfundco.org/
- Over the phone at (719) 476-1673
- Mailing a check payable to Empty Stocking Fund to 30 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Ste. 100, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
| Partner gardens flourish over the summer | | |
Partners in Housing families planted lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, sunflowers, cucumbers, green onions and herbs this summer at the Colorado House Resource Center.
The garden has been thriving, and Partner families have enjoyed fresh veggies from the gardens in the last several months.
