The Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC) coordinates Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) which is the professional development system for early interventionists who provide supports and services to eligible children and families under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Providing Early Intervention in Child Care Settings

Child care settings are important natural environments for many infants and toddlers. It is essential that early intervention service providers find ways to collaborate with child care providers so that they are welcome in classrooms and can support the child care provider in promoting the child's development.
 
Here are some resources to help you partner with child care providers:
totTALKS ON TUESDAYS

Talks on Tuesdays (ToTs) are one-hour webinars designed to provide free online training opportunities related to important topics in early intervention. Topics chosen for the Talks on Tuesdays webinar series are based on feedback from EI practitioners about what they need to know more about! ToTs are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM.

Our February ToT, Delivering EI Services in Child Care Settings, was presented by Cynthia Core, PhD and Dana Childress, MEd. This webinar addressed the importance of collaborating with child care providers through sharing real stories and tapping in to the expertise of participants who shared strategies for working in these settings.

coaching Coaching Implementation Support Project

The professional development team has collaborated with the state Part C office staff to plan and prepare for the MEISR pilot training that was held on 2/10/17 in Richmond. Additionally, plans are underway for the March 28th Local System Managers meeting.
 
The 2nd cohort of the Coaching Implementation Support Project has completed 3 of 6 meetings with a strong emphasis on how service coordinators can use coaching with families.
