The Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC) coordinates Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) through a contract with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The CSPD is the professional development system for early interventionists who provide supports and services to eligible children and families under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Neurotypical and Neuroatypical Brain Development

Our June Talks on Tuesdays webinar topic looked at typical development of the human brain and how that development might be different in children subsequently diagnosed with autism. Our presenter shared information on prematurity, language delays and ADHD and how understanding this brain development may improve overall developmental trajectory. Here are a few resources to help you learn more:

Talks on Tuesdays (ToTs) are one-hour webinars designed to provide free online training opportunities related to important topics in early intervention. Topics chosen for the Talks on Tuesdays webinar series are based on feedback from EI practitioners about what they need to know more about! ToTs are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM.

Our June ToTs featured Dr. John Harrington discussing the differences between neurotypical and neuroatypical brain development.  itcITC Activities Update

The ITC staff is busy, busy, busy:
  • It's almost CCSS2019 time. We hope to see you all at the conference July 17-19 at the Hotel Roanoke.
  • SC Chats are going STATEWIDE. Mark your calendars and plan to join us regardless of where you live or work. We'll be chatting on July 25 from 12:00-1:00 talking about  Organization, Documentation, and Time Management...Oh My!
  • Have you downloaded the new VEIPD Center app? Click here for instructions.
  • The 4 th cohort of the Coaching Implementation Project finished its 6-month cycle this month.
  • Twenty-two EI practitioners will complete the 6-week Adult Learning course this month.
  • The new  Yes, Service Coordinators Can Use Coaching online course content development and formatting have been completed. The course is under review now.
  • The Spring Kaleidoscope Communities of Practice will have their second meetings this month.
