Are you keeping up with our blog, Early Intervention Strategies for Success?
How does our blog tie to our topic of the month?
Take a look:

The spring Kaleidoscope training was held in Glenn Allen on April 30th. The fall Kaleidoscope will be held in the Valley region. For information about the training and registration, visit the  Kaleidoscope Service Coordination Training  page.

The Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC) coordinates Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) through a contract with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The CSPD is the professional development system for early interventionists who provide supports and services to eligible children and families under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Sharing Difficult Information with Families in Early Intervention

Our Talks on Tuesdays webinar series in April and May focused on sharing difficult information with families in early intervention. Discussion focused on practical strategies for navigating stress (yours and the parent's), the need for the parent to have all the information, and the need to maintain a healthy relationship. Here are a few resources to help you learn more:

Talks on Tuesdays (ToTs) are one-hour webinars designed to provide free online training opportunities related to important topics in early intervention. Topics chosen for the Talks on Tuesdays webinar series are based on feedback from EI practitioners about what they need to know more about! ToTs are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM.

Our April ToTs (Part I) featured Leah Davidson, MS, IMH-E® (II) discussing practical strategies for navigating stress, the need for the parent to have all the information, and the need to maintain a healthy relationship. A panel discussion in May ToTs (Part II) featured a panel style discussion from multiple perspectives throughout the process of early intervention.  To view these archived webinars, please visit the VEIPD website.
Our next one-part webinar, Neurotypical Brain Development: "How Different Is It from Autism, ADHD, Language Delay, etc.?" will feature Dr. John Harrington providing current medical information on brain differences in those with autism. Plan to join us June 4th  from 12:00-1:00PM. Register today!
