PRINCIPAL'S CORNER >
Dear Pierce Community,
Safe access in, out and between school buildings is very important here at Pierce.
Our current enrollment has exceeded 700 students for the first time ever and we have continuing renovations occurring both inside and outside of the school. Safe access in, out and between school buildings is very important to accommodate this growth.
Our growth and the construction have temporarily limited our outside space and pathways. It is more important than ever to ensure the safety of all of our students and families at pick-up and drop-off time.
We need to work together to make sure that all children are able to get to their caregivers or after-school activities as easily and safely as possible.
Please attend to these guidelines at pick-up and drop-off:
- Pick-up and drop-off occur outside the Historical Building only. Do not use the School St. (parking garage) circle.
- Drop off in front of the Historical Building. Please do not drop off at other points in the circle. This will increase the number of students crossing the driveway while cars are moving.
- No unattended cars or parking in the circle at these times.
- We ask that dog owners refrain from bringing their dogs into the transition routes and from tying their dogs in the pathway, especially near the entrances to the school buildings. This does create a safety concern.
Most importantly, GO SLOW and BE PATIENT!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Pipier Smith-Mumford John Badger
Principal Vice Principal
