WHATS HAPPENING NOW >
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER >
Dear Pierce Community,
Safe access in, out and between school buildings is very important here at Pierce.
Our current enrollment has exceeded 700 students for the first time ever and we have continuing renovations occurring both inside and outside of the school. Safe access in, out and between school buildings is very important to accommodate this growth.
Our growth and the construction have temporarily limited our outside space and pathways. It is more important than ever to ensure the safety of all of our students and families at pick-up and drop-off time.
We need to work together to make sure that all children are able to get to their caregivers or after-school activities as easily and safely as possible.
Please attend to these guidelines at pick-up and drop-off:
- Pick-up and drop-off occur outside the Historical Building only. Do not use the School St. (parking garage) circle.
- Drop off in front of the Historical Building. Please do not drop off at other points in the circle. This will increase the number of students crossing the driveway while cars are moving.
- No unattended cars or parking in the circle at these times.
- We ask that dog owners refrain from bringing their dogs into the transition routes and from tying their dogs in the pathway, especially near the entrances to the school buildings. This does create a safety concern.
Most importantly, GO SLOW and BE PATIENT!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The PTO recognizes how busy we all are and that many hands make light work. Based on that philosophy we are asking you to volunteer and help where you can. There is always a place for you no matter how much time you have to give and when you have to give it! We are very open to your ideas on how to improve things and how to build teams that can work together to make the work manageable!
Check out www.piercepto.weebly.com for ideas and respond to firstname.lastname@example.org or stop one of the Co-Chairs if you are interested.
PTO COMMUNICATIONS CHANGES
First, many thanks to Felina Silver for her 3 years as Editor of the Bridge and countless hours of help publishing the Directories.
Below are a few highlights of the changes in PTO communications:
The website - Thanks to Libby Berke, Jamie Bakum and Gioia Perugini for designing and populating the new website at http://piercepto.weebly.com . This new website will become the hub of pertinent information about the PTO, events and school activities. It is almost there, but please bear with us as we work to complete this transition over the next month. In the meantime, the old website will remain live in case there is something you need that has not yet made it into the new website, please let us know at email@example.com
The Bridge - template has been updated and its processes reviewed to help maximize information that is readily available to you without unnecessary clutter in your mailboxes. Send all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 10pm for the Wednesday distribution. All additional criteria for submissions can be found on the website.
'a'Bridged - will continue to be used for time sensitive matters that fall outside the regular Bridge cycle. See criteria on the website. Send submissions to email@example.com
