K-3 EVENT: JOIN US FOR MARCH MADNESS PLANNING
We are looking for parent volunteers to help out with March Madness. March Madness is a series of events in the evenings of March 6, 7 and 8 for K-3. We need help on those evenings, as well as some prep and promotional work. March Madness is a 2nd Grade volunteer event, however, all parents are welcome. BASEBALL COACHES NEEDED FOR SPRING
Batter Up! Brookline Youth Baseball's Instructional League is looking for one or more enthusiastic first grade moms or dads at the Pierce School to coach, help coach, or help with the organization of a youth baseball team this spring.
Introducing first graders to the game of baseball is a truly rewarding experience that involves only a modest commitment of time. Buffer Zone Special Committee
Open Forums 1/26 and 2/9 @ 7pm
Brookline Public School Special Subcommittee on Buffer Zones have two open forum meetings coming up. This subcommittee is reviewing the buffer zones to determine if changes need to be made in the future. It's important to note that Pierce is a buffer to five other Brookline schools, so the decisions may affect the Pierce community in the future.

Projects, collects food for the Brookline Emergency Food Pantry at the St.
Paul's Church. This is an ongoing project and food can be left in the Food
Pantry Box in front of the Pierce School Main Office at anytime.
The Food Pantry is in need of:
*Jams and jellies
*Meals in a can (canned pasta, stew, soup, etc.)
*Mayonnaise (medium size preferred)
*Packets of powdered milk
*Shelf-stable milk (Parmalat, Bordens)
*Personal care items (shampoo, body lotion, deodorant, etc.)

PIERCE STUDENT TO PLAY TOTO IN WIZARD OF OZ PLAY

Come and support Sofia, second grade 2-H Pierce student who was selected to play Toto in the Wheelock Family Theatre's production of Wizard of Oz.
In early October of last year, Sofia participated in The Wheelock Family Theatre's casting call and auditioned for a particular role in front of an audience of producers and casting directors. Not too long after the audition, she received the exciting news that she was selected to play... Toto!
Sofia will be playing alongside young Broadway actor Katherine Doherty, who is playing Dorothy. Sofia has already begun an intense schedule of rehearsals and is excited for her opening night on January 27th, 7:30pm.
