On December 15, Pine Crest Inn had the pleasure of hosting 80 students from Pinehurst Elementary School for cookies and cocoa. The children were greeted by Santa Claus and one of his elves.
The children were asked to write a letter to Santa Claus and tell not what they wanted for Christmas, but what good deeds they have performed or promise to perform in the coming year. Here are the top ten responses (spelling included):
10. I will be good in helping my little sister get through kiindergardin.
9. I will help you if you stuck on a roof with a rope.
8. I will walk elderly people to their car.
7. I did Meals on Wheels which is for old people who have don't have food.
6. I did an active of kindnes by helping my friend everyone was calling names and I told them to stop.
5. I have helped a homeless person when I was 3 years old.
4. This year I will brightened up somewones day by playing with somewone new.
3. I saved a scwirl from ding when he feel out of the tree. I made a nest.
2. I will not talk in church.
1. I want to give good to the world by giveing to the poor. I want to but I need to find the poor people to give them for food water and shellter.
From the mouths of babes. In this complicated time period which we find ourselves, these letters were a reminder that goodness and kindness still exists.
