Who's That Guy at the Omelet Station?
If you've ever enjoyed the Sunday Breakfast Buffet at Pine Crest Inn, chances are you've met Jerry Michael—the friendly face behind the omelet station. A part-time member of the Pine Crest Inn family for 16 years, Jerry has become a beloved fixture of the Sunday tradition, greeting guests with a smile while crafting made-to-order omelets.
On a typical Sunday, Jerry prepares around 125 omelets, helping serve the hundreds of guests who visit the buffet each week. This Father's Day, he doubled that number, cooking an impressive 250 omelets for hungry diners.
A lifelong Moore County resident, Jerry got his start in the restaurant industry at the former John's BBQ & Seafood in Aberdeen before working for Chef Warren. Today, he also works in the meat department at Fresh Market. He and his wife, Phyzzie, have two daughters, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Ask Jerry what he enjoys most about Sundays at Pine Crest Inn, and he'll tell you it's the people. Whether he's chatting with returning guests or preparing the perfect omelet just the way you like it, his warm personality is one of the many reasons the Sunday Breakfast Buffet has become such a cherished Sandhills tradition.
