For This Church and For Our Future

- "We know who we have been, and now we have to boldly try and figure out, ask the hard questions, have the hard conversations about who we are going to be."
- "Growing Rostered Ministers Shortage = 1,020 in 2019"
- "Those who provide the opportunity for a student to hear, 'The church cares for you. There are people out there waiting for your ministry,' that gives them a voice from the future saying, 'We will help you. Come and serve us.'"
Together, we can invest in leaders for Christ's church on a scale and scope we never could otherwise. Your gifts to the ELCA Fund for Leaders program empowers those whom God calls into ministry to go and serve as the church needs and the Holy Spirit leads. Day on the Hill
The famous Jewish religious leader, Rabbi Hillel, once asked, "If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?" At JRLC's Day on the Hill 2018, hundreds of people of faith will gather to ask themselves, their communities, and their representatives: If we do not work towards social justice now, when?
Join faithful advocates from across the state on
March 13, 2018 to reflect on why we make our voices heard, to plan for continued actions in our home communities, and to speak with representatives at the State Capitol.
The craft of preaching the gospel in today's world is a both a joy and a challenge.
Lectionaries help provide structure and have many associated resources for worship planning, but lectionary-based worship leadership can be inflexible and feel episodic.
As a leader, are you feeling a little dry and uninspired when looking ahead at worship planning for your church? Are you open to a new and creative planning process that has been used with greater frequency in congregations with dynamic worship? Are there specific, or even burning, issues your community might benefit from addressing over a multi-week sermon series? How do you develop a sustained pattern for worship planning for preaching in series?
Join us for a practical learning experience with other preachers and worship leaders of how to conceive, plan and implement a consequential sermon series that will have your congregation faithfully fed, grateful, and alive. Visit preachinginseries.org for more conference details.
