From the Carpenter's Bench:

My children, keep yourself safe from false Gods - John 5;21

Cecil B. DeMille was a famous Hollywood director. After filming The Ten Commandments, he was asked, "What commandment do you think people break the most today?" He replied, "The first one: 'Worship no god but me... Do not bow down to any idol.' It's the one Israel broke first, and it's the one we still break most." DeMille hastened to clarify that we don't bow down to idols of metal and stone. Rather, we bow down to idols of flesh, fame, and money.

We often get caught up in the fame and fortune of others, however, what really matters in your life? Keep God, Family, and Community at the heart of your being and you cannot go wrong. They say when things go wrong you really find out who your friends are. How true, I know that I will always have the support of God, my family, and my friends!

What is one idol in my life that I am tempted to bow down to?

Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions...they become your character. - Frank Outlaw

RAD Training
Parents,
The SJPA is sponsoring a RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Training for our female students who are interested.  The class will be held March 1st and March 2nd at the High School Gym.  Friday's session will start at 2:00 and end at 6:00, Saturday will be 8:00 am to 5:00.  Please dress comfortably but keep in mind there will be lots of stretching and getting suited up in protective gear.  Leggings/sweats and t-shirts are the preferred uniform of the day.  On Saturday please bring a lunch as there will be a 45 min to 1-hour lunch break.  Please note that both days are required to complete the course.  You must commit to both days!  This is very important as this is a foundational program and each technique is built upon the prior technique taught.
The cost is 20.00 per student, we have openings for 20 students, this will fill up fast.  Registration forms and Releases are at the front deck.  You must have this signed to participate.  Please arrive on time and bring a water bottle.  Please feel free to call me with any questions.
Thank you,
