From the Carpenter's Bench:

Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
- John 5:5

Human leaders can inspire us with their example, but they can't fill us with their spirit. But Jesus is different. He can do for us what no human leader can. He can reach inside us and fill us with his spirit. But Jesus does not force himself upon us. If he is to fill us with his spirit, we must believe he is the Son of God and open ourselves to him.

Think about the people in our lives that inspire us, who are they? A wife, husband, father, mother, teacher, coach, brother, sister, friend...hopefully we all have people in our lives that inspire us to be better people, but the inspiration has to come from within ourselves! Jesus can open our hearts and inspire us to be better if we are willing to open our hearts to him. We live in a cynical world being constantly bombarded by bad influences, but it takes no money, fame, or popularity to be inspired in your heart and inspire others.

How firmly am I trying to open myself to Jesus? How ready am I to let Jesus work miracles inside me?

"A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way...you can do nothing without me." - John 15:4-5

Let us remember we are in the holy presence of God

RAD Training
Parents,
The SJPA is sponsoring a RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Training for our female students who are interested.  The class will be held March 1st and March 2nd at the High School Gym.  Friday's session will start at 2:00 and end at 6:00, Saturday will be 8:00 am to 5:00.  Please dress comfortably but keep in mind there will be lots of stretching and getting suited up in protective gear.  Leggings/sweats and t-shirts are the preferred uniform of the day.  On Saturday please bring a lunch as there will be a 45 min to 1-hour lunch break.  Please note that both days are required to complete the course.  You must commit to both days!  This is very important as this is a foundational program and each technique is built upon the prior technique taught.
The cost is 20.00 per student, we have openings for 20 students, this will fill up fast.  Registration forms and Releases are at the front deck.  You must have this signed to participate.  Please arrive on time and bring a water bottle.  Please feel free to call me with any questions.
Thank you,
Rhonda Ingram
