Social Host Ordinance

A Valley Center mother was recently arrested on suspicion of hosting a drinking party for teenagers. With prom and graduation season underway, the Sheriff's Department would like to remind parents that providing alcohol to minors in their home or on premises under their control is illegal under the county's social host law. Violators face up to 6 months in jail or a fine of $1,000. More serious penalties will apply if a minor is injured or injures someone else as a result of this alcohol consumption. |
