Three Lifesaving Stations Installed at Pillar Point Harbor
The Harbor District, along with the Sea Valor Organization and Arunay Foundation conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony to highlight the installation of three lifesaving stations within Pillar Point Harbor. The lifesaving stations consist of informational signage, alerting the reader to the hazards of the coastal environment, and contains a life ring attached to 100 feet of line. The intent of the life ring is to assist bystanders in the immediate response to a person being swept out to sea by a sneaker wave or heavy surf. This is only the beginning; the Harbor District will be supporting Sea Valor and Arunay Foundation to install these lifesaving stations along the entire San Mateo County coast.
