Santa Barbara Cars & Coffee
Thursday, April 14, 2011
Greetings!

It sounds like we had a great turnout last weekend and some much missed sunshine.  I was off visiting Denver and thought I'd check out the local car scene while I was there and had a great time as you'll see in the segment below.  I also had the good fortune of an old high school friend of mine opening their new business, Racekraft, which was a vintage racing heaven and an incredible shop.  Bill and Veda Siino also shared their exploits at the LaJolla car show where they brought their beautiful Porsche Carrera GT.  Finally, we ran out to get some gelato at Scoops here in Montecito and cracked open the Montecito Journal which had a couple of very nice mentions of our event there so thanks so much to them for the kind support. I've already had a couple of contacts from it so I hope we'll see some new faces. As much as the event started out about the cars, it's also about the great people.  We couldn't ask for a better group to hang out with.

I hope to see everyone on Sunday!

Bill and Veda's adventure!

Bill and Vida have a beautiful weekend home here in Santa Barbara and will be visiting us this weekend but two weeks ago they had one of their cars at the LaJolla Motor Car Classic where it won the People's Choice Award. No question it was a worthy winner!  Thanks for sharing the pics and we look forward to seeing you two this weekend!  Rumor has it they're bringing the Carrera GT too!

Great turnout!
Finally some sunshine brought out everyone for a great turnout with new faces and new friends.  Most people get excited when we see a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing but last weekend saw three parked side by side.  What a treat!

Denver Car Scene

I checked out the Denver Cars and Coffee last week and saw some great and highly unusual cars.  Right afterwards, I went to visit an old high school friend of mine and their new shop, Racekraft, with some incredible vintage cars.  BTW, the red Porsche Turbo shown below and its owners, John and Laura Esler, are coming to join us in August!  If you're off to an out-of-town car event be sure to share the pics with us so we can include them in the newsletter.

I know a few folks are heading down to the Long Beach Grand Prix so we'll be sure to takes lots of pictures for you when you come back.  The weather looks fantastic for this weekend so it should be a great turnout. Thanks so much to everyone for helping to spread the word and see you on Sunday!
Sincerely,

Monte Wilson

This particular car has been sitting for a couple of years so it likely needs an oil change and a PPI but the car is in beautiful condition and ready to enjoy. Silver/Black with 22,000 miles on it.   The owner isn't quite sure what to sell it for but simply asking for a fair price. Contact Ted Greene for more information.
