Registration is now open! Click here to register.

Science Camp for Teens is back in 2020 with two incredible summer camp sessions:

LAND & SEA CAMP, July 1-10, gets you out onto the mountains, into the forests, along the shores, and into the waters of Hawaii Island.

At AIR & SPACE CAMP, July 11-20, you'll visit observatories, explore rocketry, astronomy, space exploration, and the atmosphere. All while meeting scientists and learning and doing hands-on science. Known as "the world's greatest outdoor laboratory," Hawaii Island is the perfect place to spend part of the summer.

You'll visit some of the most spectacular environments anywhere: the alpine slopes of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, the native forests and fabulous waterfalls of the Hamakua coast, the wild shoreline at South Point, and the incredible black sand beach of Punalu'u.

On any day at Science Camp you might build and launch rockets, snorkel with sea turtles, build your own test equipment, hike across a volcano, star-gaze atop a volcano, design a Mars habitat, explore a cave, debate the consequences of climate change, or even get buried in black sand!

cbsSummer Science Camp for Massachusetts High School Students

In the summer of 2019, SCA hosted an extra summer camp session for a group of students from North Andover High School in Massachusetts as part of our Class to Camp program. The twenty students enjoyed a program developed by Science Camps of America together with NAHS science teachers Charley Anderson and Bennett Ahearn, who led the group. Field trips to destinations around Hawai'i Island, community service projects, and opportunities to experience the unique natural and cultural resources of Hawai'i.

In-class Electronics Maker Lab

Science Camps of America's CAMP to CLASSROOM program was brought to Kalani High School in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  Thirty Physics students of Mr. Mitchell Kimura were given the opportunity to learn a little bit more about electronics, to learn to solder, and to build two electronics projects, including a salinity tester and a solar-powered USB phone charger.  The program, led by SCA's Program Director Denisse Aranda and Executive Director Michael Richards, was held over multiple class sessions during October and November.
