Happy New Year from Shania Kids Can
We Wish You and Your Loved Ones
All the Best In 2019!

As we head into an exciting new year filled with promise and hope, we wanted to share with you some Shania Kids Can highlights from 2018. It was an incredible year with so much growth, support, and learning
for the SKC students.

Undoubtedly, the most exciting thing to happen in 2018 was SKC’s involvement with Shania Twain’s NOW Tour. Throughout the North American leg of the tour, Shania Kids Can benefited from a Text-to-Donate Campaign, exclusive SKC tour merchandise, successful 50/50 draws, and an incredible Prizeo Campaign that saw one lucky fan travel to Australia to see Shania perform live! Here are some photos of our awesome Prizeo winner Erika, taking in the sites of Sydney, and meeting Shania backstage!

Shania Kids Can provides services that promote positive change in children's lives in time of crises and economic hardship. We work with elementary schools throughout North America delivering programs and services that provide support and stability by qualified professionals to the most vulnerable children within that school. Here are some of our favourite moments and highlights from the past year at SKC Clubhouses.

Catherine Nicols Gunn School in Calgary, Alberta
Student Spotlight: LORELAI
Last year, when Lorelai joined SKC, she was having issues with self-confidence. Today, she is a class leader and role model. This has led to both high academic achievement and significant personal growth. Everyone in the clubhouse is proud of this unique, funny, and thoughtful friend!

Sir Winston Churchill Public School in Brampton, Ontario
Student Spotlight: BARAKA
Baraka came to the SKC clubhouse with a shy demeanor. She would barely communicate with others in the classroom or in the SKC program. Within a few weeks, she made exceptional progress. She has opened up by socializing with others, making friends, smiling more, and asking questions. Baraka is gaining more confidence by the day!

At Shania Kids Can, We Believe in Dreaming BIG!
One of our SKC Brampton kids, Kaylee, has a love of music and a beautiful voice. Over the past year, Shania Kids Can has supported and nurtured Kaylee’s interest by providing her with extra-curricular music lessons.
Taylor Guitars generously donated a guitar to further support Kaylee. On the Hamilton stop of the NOW tour, Shania Twain graciously invited Kaylee to join her on stage for a song, it was an unforgettable moment!

Hjorth Road Elementary School in Surrey, British Columbia
Student Spotlight: REDA
Reda has made huge improvements in understanding his emotions and communicating his feelings. At the SKC Clubhouse he has been learning about his emotions, and what to do when he has big emotions. Reda has worked hard on improving his communication skills and using sentences to express and describe his feelings.
