Greetings All,

Thank you to everyone that came to Artists in Heat last month! It was an excellent kick off to our annual membership campaign. We had a great time hosting visiting artist David Schnuckel. He presented an excellent lecture followed by some amazing demos. If you would like to become a member of SiNaCa Studios click HERE to view the different levels.

There will be two large events at SiNaCa this month.

The first is ArtsGoggle and will be this Saturday the 8th from 12p-10p. If you haven't been its an amazing art festival with over 500 artists and 70 bands. More information can be found below.

The second event will be the second annual Pride of Southside Homebrew Invitational. It will be October 29th from 12p-6p. This is our fall fundraiser with proceeds going directly to our glass programing. There will be beer samples from some of the best local breweries and homebrewers for you to enjoy. Don't forget that we currently have a promotion on for our experience kiln forming workshop. Its the perfect chance to work in our kiln forming studio and learn about a different approach to being creative with glass. View the deal HERE.

If you have kiddos that are interested in creating with glass check out our Kids Connect2Glass. Participants choose one of the offered kiln forming items during registration. The one hour workshops are held once a month. Up to four kids can be registered for the same time. Click HERE for information and registration.

This Saturday from 12p-10p. Come check out our glass pumpkin patch. We will also have our annual student and seconds sale tables under the big tent. There will be glass blowing demos from the students of UT Arlington's glass department as well as flame working demos. Thanks to the amazing folks at Near Southside for putting on this fun event! Make plans to come sample and then judge local homebrews for the Best in Show winner. Also sample the BJCP entries and offerings from commercial brewers. To purchase tickets click HERE.

Reserved Pumpkin and Ornament Workshops
                                                                                       We will be offering a workshop with reserved time for both pumpkins and ornaments. Cost will be $50 per person per item.

The pumpkin workshop will be November 3rd starting at 7p and ending at 9p. Click HERE to register.

Kid's Classes

Weekend Camp
December 15th & 16th |12pm-4pm This Star Wars themed camp will give kids the chance to work in both our kiln forming and flame working studios. There will be two projects done each day. For registration and information click HERE.

Held once a month in our kiln forming studio. Kids can choose from one of a variety of projects to complete in the hour long workshop. Up to four participants per session. For more information and registration click HERE.
Open Studio Night 
October 14th | 6pm-9pm

Tatara Siegel will be our guest artist this month. She is one of our glass blowing instructors and is in charge of artistic development for SiNaca. She Received her BFA at UT Arlington and her MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Join us the second Friday of each month from 6p-9p as we host an open studio night at SiNaCa. This is your chance to find out more about the "magic" that goes in to creating glass art. As the artist creates their work we give you an interactive play by play, so you can understand better 
why they do what they do. Our on site gallery showcases our featured artist to give you a close up view of what they create. Its also the perfect time to find out how you can get involved in learning how to work with glass.

Newbie Classes
Experience workshops are the perfect way to be introduced to working with glass in any one of our three studios. Use the links for full descriptions, availability and prices of the classes.

Experience Flame Working -
A 3-hour workshop working with both soft glass and borosilicate glass in front of an open torch.

Experience Kiln Forming -
A 2-hour workshop working with Bullseye glass in its solid state to create two unique projects.

Experience Glass Blowing -
A 2-hour workshop working with glass at 2100º, creating two items.

Experience Sand Casting -
A 30 minute workshop where you will make your very own sand cast glass tile!
Glass Classes 
SiNaCa Studios offers a variety of ever evolving hot and warm glass programs.  We offer short term classes ranging from 20 minutes to 3 hours in our hot shop (glass blowing studio), kiln forming studio and flame working studio. If you want a more in depth learning opportunity we have 6 week extended programs in the hot shop, and 3 week extended programs in kiln forming that give you a greater understanding of the different ways to manipulate glass.
