A Note from Pastor Sherri
Dear Friends,
Grace and peace to you as we celebrate the gifts of another glorious weekend ahead. Our wider community and SHPC is filled with people who have myriad gifts of knowledge, experience and wisdom and the generosity of spirit to share them that we all might grow. This Sunday morning at 9:30 am you are invited to worship to learn from our own Doug Eisinger as he speaks to us on "Climate Change: Keeping our Sense of Direction".
Doug Eisinger and his family have been SHPC members for many years. Doug is an environmental professional. He has been a manager for the U.S. EPA, a transportation-air quality program manager at UC Davis, and a board member for Sonoma Technology, an environmental consulting firm. Doug is also an affiliate professor for the University of Washington Masters in Sustainable Transportation program. He has taught environmental courses at UC Davis, the University of Hawaii, and Vermont Law & Graduate School. His book, Smog Check, shares how implementation of the Clean Air Act led to an intense political confrontation between federal regulators and California politicians. From 2017-2023, under the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, Doug chaired the Air Quality and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mitigation Committee for the U.S. Transportation Research Board. He has been a volunteer for SHPC, our public schools, the National Park Service, and the Town of San Anselmo.
We are blessed to have Doug in our midst and hope you will join us to learn from him and be a part of the vibrant growing community that is Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church.
Blessings,
Sherri

Join Us in Making History in Marin
Peace to you, friends and colleagues. We want to share the exciting and historic news that Christ Presbyterian Church is hosting San Rafael's first-ever Juneteenth Celebration! We invite you and your congregation to attend this inaugural event on Saturday, June 15 from 11a-3p.
The Juneteenth Family Festival will be full of delicious food, live music, community leaders, handmade arts, a bounce house, and good vibes.
Chaplain Chitoka Webb’s vision for the event is celebrating historic African American FIRSTS in Marin County. We want to celebrate the many contributions the African American community has made and continues to make. This includes celebrating Rev. Dr. Laurie Garrett-Cobbina, librarian William Calhoun, and former mayor Brian Colbert, among others.
San Rafael’s First Juneteenth Family Festival
11a-3p on Saturday, June 15 at 620 Del Ganado Road, San Rafael
Please contact Ashley Pogue (information below) if you are interested in volunteering to help with the Festival.
We look forward to seeing you on June 15 at this special event. If you have any questions, please reach out to Chaplain Chitoka Webb.
With deep gratitude,
Chitoka

Westminster Woods Reimagined Summer Programs
Camp Soulspring: Camp Soulspring is a faith-based Summer Camp that nurtures the social and spiritual development of young people by helping them create meaningful relationships between Self, Others, Nature, and God.
The Grove: Design your own custom Family Camp experience using the magic of Westminster Woods and the surrounding playground of West Sonoma County.
Woods to Waves: Continuing Westminster Woods' long trip-camp tradition, Woods to Waves gives a group of high schoolers the freedom to bond with one another through the shared discovery of Sonoma County's hidden creeks and corners, and through the collaborative sharing of their own stories and wisdom around the campfire.
Friendship Camp: Friendship Camp is a week for adults with developmental disabilities to express joy, create friendships, embrace nature, and worship God.
Inspire Services: Inspire invites guests of all backgrounds to ground themselves through a quiet and contemplative musical service, providing space for prayer and reflection.
Summer Staff: Because many religious communities are often racially segregated, Westminster Woods intentionally hires a racially diverse staff that share a common love for God, demonstrating the common love that is possible between individuals who come from different backgrounds. Our staff is dedicated to providing transformational experiences for every camper.
Here is the registration link for all of our programs!
