Sixth Sunday of Eastertide

Sacrament of Holy Communion

We Gather at Church and by Zoom

A Note from Pastor Sherri

Dear Friends,

It is with joy and anticipation that we look forward to having our children help lead music during worship this Sunday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a youth concert at 11:00am led by our Children's Music Leader, Pam Selvig. One of the words we use for worship is “liturgy” which literally means “the work of the people.” At SHPC the work of the people does not only happen on Sundays but continues all week long and we would love for you to be a part of it. Are you interested in reading scripture or leading a prayer? Is there a gift, skill, or some knowledge you might like to share? If so, let me know. Do you or your children love to sing or play an instrument? Our Director of Music Alex Walker is ready to welcome you. Maybe your joy is gardening, or you feel passionate about alleviating hunger. Join us in the Justice Garden or take a turn at our summer farm stand. I’d be delighted to connect you with Michael Durphy and Patti Vance. Do you have a desire to share your time and talents serving those in the wider community who are in need but don't know where to start? Let Bridget Clark and Lezley Blair help you. There are so many ways to be involved. Come and be a part of this joyful, caring community where you matter!

Blessings,

Sherri

SHPC in this time of transition, may the church join together in spirit and in love, with mutual uplift and faithful service;

The incarcerated, and their loved ones, especially those held in solitary confinement; for a justice system and prison system that uphold our highest values, and for humane treatment at all times;

The people of Ukraine, after the one year anniversary of the invasion, for an end to war, and for true peace;

For sensible gun control to stem the loss of life from gun violence;

Immigrants and asylum seekers, those who have lost their lives in their treacherous journeys, and their loved ones, may all be treated as fully human and deserving of dignity;

Our planet, all God's children, may God guide world leaders and energize us to continue our work to keep the planet livable;

All those suffering from COVID and its impacts here and around the world;

The unhoused community, for dignity and housing that is sustainable;

The PC(USA), for courage and energy to continue our world-wide mission of love and justice for all people;

Dr. Doug Tilton, our PC(USA) mission co-worker in Southern Africa, and all our mission workers world-wide in peace and justice ministries.

Westminster Woods Reimagined Summer Programs

Camp Soulspring: Camp Soulspring is a faith-based Summer Camp that nurtures the social and spiritual development of young people by helping them create meaningful relationships between Self, Others, Nature, and God.

The Grove: Design your own custom Family Camp experience using the magic of Westminster Woods and the surrounding playground of West Sonoma County.

Woods to Waves: Continuing Westminster Woods' long trip-camp tradition, Woods to Waves gives a group of high schoolers the freedom to bond with one another through the shared discovery of Sonoma County's hidden creeks and corners, and through the collaborative sharing of their own stories and wisdom around the campfire.

Friendship Camp: Friendship Camp is a week for adults with developmental disabilities to express joy, create friendships, embrace nature, and worship God.

Inspire Services: Inspire invites guests of all backgrounds to ground themselves through a quiet and contemplative musical service, providing space for prayer and reflection. Our next Inspire Service is February 18th at Westminster Woods from 3-5pm! No registration required.

Summer Staff: Because many religious communities are often racially segregated, Westminster Woods intentionally hires a racially diverse staff that share a common love for God, demonstrating the common love that is possible between individuals who come from different backgrounds. Our staff is dedicated to providing transformational experiences for every camper.
