John Davis to MC Green Drive$ Conference & Expo - May 19
|
The Lake Michigan Consortium announced that John Davis,
the Emmy® Award-winning host of MotorWeek, television's longest-running automotive series, will serve as the master of ceremonies and a featured speaker at its Clean Cities Green Drives Conference and Expo on May 19.
Clean Cities coalitions from Chicago, Wisconsin and Northern Indiana are partnering to host the major green-transportation
conference at the Northern Illinois University's Conference
Center in Naperville, Ill. Green Drives will showcase fuel-saving and carbon-reducing technologies for commercial, industrial and consumer use. It also will feature private and public fleets in the tri-state region that operate their vehicles on clean-burning fuels. Attendees will learn of first-hand experiences from fleets currently using natural gas, propane, electric vehicles, and other petroleum-reduction strategies.
"John Davis is one of the most trusted and recognized automotive journalists in the nation," said John Walton, vice chairman of Chicago Area Clean Cities. "We are honored to have him speak at Green Drives and to shine the spotlight on the advantages of going green."

EPA Clean Diesel Emissions Reduction Funding |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a $26 million funding opportunity for the Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program. The program is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets operating in areas designated by the Administrator as poor air quality areas.
Deadline for Applications: 4:00 P.M. ET Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Midwest DRIVES Initiative |
 The
Midwest DRIVES Initiative is a U.S. Department of Energy funded program to offer fleets free demonstrations of advanced and alternative fuel and technology vehicles. The demos come with data logging equipment. Data driven case studies will help fleet administrators decide whether vehicles will work for their operations.

Indiana Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence |
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence. This award is Indiana's most prestigious environmental recognition award. Although IDEM accepts nominations from all Indiana citizens and organizations, the selection process is highly competitive and only one winner will be selected to receive this award. The award will be presented in September or October 2016.
Nominations must be received (not postmarked) by IDEM by 5:00 PM (EDT) on Friday, May 13, 2016. Click Here for more information on submitting nominations.
