Welcome Jerald this Sunday!
We are delighted to welcome our new Music Director Jerald Jay, whose passion for worship, music, and ministry is matched by more than 25 years of experience serving churches throughout Northeast Florida.
A graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music, Jerald brings extensive expertise as an organist, pianist, vocalist, choir director, and handbell clinician. Throughout a distinguished career, he has led traditional choirs, praise teams, handbell ensembles, and contemporary worship ministries at churches across Jacksonville.
Outside of church, Jerald is the owner and administrator of The Little Country School, where he has taught since 1986. Jerald enjoys working in the yard, spending time with his cat, Tiberius, and getting away to Walt Disney World as often as he can.
Please give Jerald a warm welcome as he begins this new chapter of ministry with our church this Sunday, August 2nd. We look forward to making some beautiful music together!

Our Annual Lightning Strike
They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but we seem to get a lightning strike every July! This year it has knocked out a substantial amount of electricity to the Parish Hall, including our AC units. Due to the nature of the lightning strike, this has turned into a much larger and more involved project than we had originally hoped.
As such, the office continues to be closed while we sort out the electric and lay hands on the AC units. Please continue to call or email as we are working from home.
Many thanks to Gary who has been working round the clock to get electricity and AC restored. Please keep praying we will be up and running soon!

Calling All Crafters!
The Faith Crafters of St. Andrew's welcome all crafters to our monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month, 1:00-2:30 in the Parish Hall conference room.
Please come and bring any friends who are interested in crafting and fellowship. We are always looking for good ideas for ways to share our crafts to help others. Fellowship and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

Pray for the Church this Summer!
Summer is always a time for us as the church to reset and recharge for the fall. We'll be having some trainings, some classes, and some fellowship together, but in the spirit of Pentecost, will you pray for the growth and ministry of our church?
Almighty God, you have called us into community with one another so that we may grow in knowledge and love of you. Grant us words and deeds to show your love to all we meet, that the ministry of this parish may increase and your kingdom continue to grow. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Ice Cream Social
Students and Teachers! Bring your backpack (or briefcase) to church next Sunday, August 9th, for a special blessing as you head back into the classroom for another school year.
After the service, stick around for an ice cream social in Emmanuel Hall!

Education for Ministry (EfM)
Begins in September!
Education for Ministry, "EfM" will be offered by Redeemer & St. Andrew's again this fall, and you can join! EfM is a program of Christian formation designed specifically to equip lay persons with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to bring ministry into their daily lives. EfM now has two options for participation, making participation and commitment more manageable.
EfM Classic: The 4 year program that you may have heard of or completed continues. It is now called “EfM Classic”. Classic features in depth studies in Hebrew Scripture, New Testament, Church History and Theology over four years.
EfM Wide Angle: The new offering is called “EfM Wide Angle”. Wide Angle is designed as a 1 year program. It features shorter units devoted to Hebrew Scripture, New Testament, Church History and Theology. It is designed to appeal to those who may be curious about EfM, but not ready to enroll in a 4 year program. It also appeals to those who may have completed EfM Classic, but want to continue being part of a learning community focused on Ministry in our daily lives.
EfM Classic and EfM Wide angle participants can all participate in the same EfM group facilitated by the same mentor. Please let Mtr. Lisa know if you are interested!
Weekly meetings: Thursday 6pm–9pm beginning September 10th.
Program Time Commitment: 36 weeks each year, September through May.
Participant’s Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours each week to complete the week's assignments before the group meetings.
Cost: Tuition totals $367.50/year, and participants are responsible for acquiring the needed books. Book costs don't exceed $100 per year.

We Stuffed the Bus!
Several churches in our community collect school supplies during the month of July in order to stuff backpacks to be distributed at the most needy schools in our area. This project makes a huge difference in the lives of children in the community that we serve.
And St. Andrew's, you stuffed the bus! We collected over 500 sets of safety tip scissors and 500 folders! These supplies were delivered Wednesday and will be stuffed into backpacks this Saturday to be received by children attending schools in the Arlington area this school year.
Thanks to all who donated, delivered, stuffed, and dropped off!

Come "Meet & Greet" our Nominees!
Three "Meet and Greets" with our bishop nominees will take place across the diocese next month, providing opportunities for diocesan members to meet the nominees in person and hear their responses to questions in facilitated breakout rooms.
All members of the diocese are welcome and encouraged to attend any or multiple Meet and Greets.
- Monday, August 17 - Christ Church, Ponte Vedra Beach
- Wednesday, August 19 - Holy Trinity, Gainesville
- Friday, August 21 - Holy Comforter, Tallahassee
At each Meet and Greet, a casual reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. Then, starting promptly at 6:15 p.m., all will gather in the sanctuary for prayer and instructions, before breaking out into several rooms where one nominee will come in at a time and answer questions posed by a facilitator. Each candidate will rotate through all the rooms. The evening will end with prayer around 8:45 p.m.
Registration is required, and all are invited to submit questions for the nominees.
