News from St. Andrew's
This Week
The Ninth Sunday After Pentecost
Join us this Sunday, online or in-person, at 10:30 am as we move through the Season After Pentecost also known as Ordinary Time.

We have seen a major uptick in hospitalizations from Covid in the Jacksonville area. As such, if you are unvaccinated or immunocompromised (even if you are vaccinated), we strongly urge you to wear a mask or watch from home until this current surge resolves. Please feel free to wear a mask at any time, even if you are vaccinated!

If you are attending in person worship, please see our updated Covid-19 guidelines.

For those of you joining us virtually, this service will be live streamed. Tune in at 10:30 am on the St. Andrew's Jax YouTube page. You can find the bulletin on the YouTube page or linked below at the bottom of the newsletter.
Ladies Night Out!
Join the ladies of the church on July 27th at 6 p.m. for good eats, drinks, and fellowship at Southern Coast Seafood at 1301 Monument Rd.

RSVP to Rose (904-307-1574) or the Church Office.
Mtr. Ronnie is Retiring!
The Rev. Rhonda Willerer, a daughter of this parish, will be retiring on July 31st.

Her last service at St. Patrick's will be this Sunday, July 25th (9:30 a.m.) after which there will be a farewell gathering with light refreshments. Please pray for her and wish Ronnie and Max well in this new season of their lives!
Outreach Opportunity: St. Mary's Needs Food!
We'll be collecting food the next two Sundays for St. Mary's in Springfield. We'll have a container by the Church Office door for all of your items. Please have them to the Church Office by Tuesday, August 3rd and we will deliver them to St. Mary's on Wednesday, August 4th.
Please note: This week (July 26th-30th), the Parish Office will only be open Monday, July 26th, so our Parish Admin can take a much deserved break. Clergy can be reached on their cell phones.
Special Cursillo Coffee Hour
Curious about Cursillo? Please join us in the Parish Hall after the 10:30am service on Sunday, August 1st.

We’ll tell you a bit about the Cursillo ministry, briefly share some of our experiences, and answer any questions you might have. Coffee, cold drinks and snacks too!  Hope to see you then!
Monthly DOK Meeting
The St. Margaret of Scotland Chapter of the Daughters of the King® meets the first Tuesday of the month, August 3rd at 6 p.m., in the Parish Hall Conference Room.
Men's Grill & Chill
Join the men of the church on Thursday, August 5th at 6 p.m. for steaks, beers, and fellowship at the Longhorn Steakhouse on Arlington Expy. RSVP to Deacon Mike or the Church Office.
Campus Clean Up and Lost & Found
It has been a busy summer around the church! We've been ripping down some old rotting wood, going through decades worth of stuff, and getting rooms ready for church activities or to rent!

Please take a look at these items that have found there way to our Lost & Found at the office. If you recognize any of them, please send an email to Kathleen. They will be donated or recycled if not claimed by August 8th.

We also have quite a few extra Church Directories from our 50th anniversary. If you would like to take a walk down the church's memory lane, grab one in the Narthex this Sunday!
Godly Play Needs You!
Godly Play, a Montessori-style children's formation class, is here! Check out a Godly Play story this Sunday on YouTube.

We are almost to the end of our Godly Play stories online, and we'd like to get a program started in person this fall. If you are interested in telling a story (even if it is just ONE), please let Mother Lisa know.
Adult Bible Study is Back!
Join us in Classroom 1 every Sunday at 9 am. We'll have coffee and a bible for you!
Request a Hymn!
Do you have a favorite hymn? Is there one you are just dying to sing? Has it been forever since you've heard one specific song?

We are having fun with our music this summer, and we want to play all of your favorites! Tell us your favorite hymn HERE and we'll do our best to work it in (as the lectionary allows)!

This includes Cursillo music! Just let us know where it is in the pew songbook.
Summer Choir is Here!
At last we can sing! Have you been surprised by how much you missed singing? Come sing in the St. Andrew's Summer Choir and help the parish get back in the swing of things!

We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am in the choir loft and run through some well-known hymns. Then we'll sing during the 10:30 am service.

That’s it. No commitment, just fun!
The Diocese of Florida Bishop Search
The Bishop's Nominating Committee is hard at work to help us find the next Bishop of Florida. Check out the process and how you can participate at FloridaBishopSearch.org.

To hear you and to understand your desires for the future of our diocese, the Nominating Committee is holding a series of in-person listening sessions planned at locations throughout the diocese and by virtual sessions via Zoom. Also, a written survey is coming soon!

This is an exciting time in our diocese. Come be a part of it!

A Prayer For Our Next Bishop
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, we pray that you would look graciously upon the Diocese of Florida, and so guide the minds and hearts of the Nominating Committee as they prayerfully select candidates for the election of the next bishop of this diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: Guide also the minds and hearts of the candidates who will come before the Nominating Committee, that this process will be a time of discernment and growth in their lives and ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We all need extra prayer sometimes. If you or someone you love is in need of prayer, please submit your prayer request here: Prayer Request. We will publish the prayer list weekly so the entire parish can keep you in their prayers.
