News from St. Andrew's
This Week
The Eighth Sunday After Pentecost
Join us this Sunday, online or in-person, at 10:30 am as we move through the Season After Pentecost also known as Ordinary Time.

We have seen a major uptick in hospitalizations from Covid in the Jacksonville area. As such, if you are unvaccinated or immunocompromised (even if you are vaccinated), we strongly urge you to wear a mask or stay home until this current surge resolves.

If you are attending in person worship, please see our updated Covid-19 guidelines.

For those of you joining us virtually, this service will be live streamed. Tune in at 10:30 am on the St. Andrew's Jax YouTube page. You can find the bulletin on the YouTube page or linked below at the bottom of the newsletter.
A Letter from the Nominating Committee
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ –

Seeking candidates for the IXth Bishop of the Diocese of Florida is a combination of prayer, hard work, discernment and listening – listening to God and to the people of our diocese.

To hear you and to understand your desires for the future of our diocese, the Nominating Committee is holding a series of in-person listening sessions planned at locations throughout the diocese and by virtual sessions via Zoom. For additional input, a written survey is being distributed this summer both in printed and online versions. Your opinions are vital to our efforts, and I ask that you prayerfully consider participating.

A special website, FloridaBishopSearch.org, has been developed to keep you informed of the progress being made and to share important information. Once we have gathered input from you, our next step is to develop a profile of the diocese to provide potential candidates information about the richness of the people and ministries of our diocese.

When nominations are open, we expect to receive applications from throughout the Episcopal Church in the United States. Then your Nominating Committee is tasked with prayerful deliberation. Our goal is to present a slate of three to five strong candidates for consideration and vote by delegates from each parish

Our task has been described as a holy one. And it is. We see it as a holy task for all of us in the Diocese of Florida as we are led by the Holy Spirit into the future of our corner of his kingdom.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Peace and Blessings,
Jeff Hoffman
Chair of the Nominating Committee

Godly Play Needs You!
Godly Play, a Montessori-style children's formation class, is here! Check out a Godly Play story this Sunday on YouTube.

We are almost to the end of our Godly Play stories online, and we'd like to get a program started in person this fall. If you are interested in telling a story (even if it is just ONE), please let Mother Lisa know.
Adult Bible Study is Back!
Join us in Classroom 1 every Sunday at 9 am. We'll have coffee and a bible for you!
Request a Hymn!
Do you have a favorite hymn? Is there one you are just dying to sing? Has it been forever since you've heard one specific song?

We are having fun with our music this summer, and we want to play all of your favorites! Tell us your favorite hymn HERE and we'll do our best to work it in (as the lectionary allows)!

This includes Cursillo music! Just let us know where it is in the pew songbook.
Summer Choir is Here!
At last we can sing! Have you been surprised by how much you missed singing? Come sing in the St. Andrew's Summer Choir and help the parish get back in the swing of things!

We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am in the choir loft and run through some well-known hymns. Then we'll sing during the 10:30 am service.

That’s it. No commitment, just fun!
Giving Statements
We're halfway through the year, so some of you may want to take a look at your giving statements!

All of our record keeping (including our bookkeeping) happens in Realm. Normally we generate and hand out paper statements in order to keep people updated as to their giving, but now your giving can be even more confidential!

Once you get signed up in Realm, you can immediately access your giving statement at any time by clicking on the "Giving" button on the left hand side. You will even be able to print a copy for yourself by clicking the print icon at the top of the report. This is the exact same report we mail out at the end of the year!

Again, this is the most secure way to access your giving information and is not able to be accessed by anyone other than yourself. If you need assistance getting up and running on Realm, or if you would like a paper statement, please contact the Church Office.

A Prayer For Our Next Bishop
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, we pray that you would look graciously upon the Diocese of Florida, and so guide the minds and hearts of the Nominating Committee as they prayerfully select candidates for the election of the next bishop of this diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: Guide also the minds and hearts of the candidates who will come before the Nominating Committee, that this process will be a time of discernment and growth in their lives and ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We all need extra prayer sometimes. If you or someone you love is in need of prayer, please submit your prayer request here: Prayer Request. We will publish the prayer list weekly so the entire parish can keep you in their prayers.
