This Week
A Note from Mother Lisa
Dear St. Andrew's,

This week I received multiple emails, calls, and texts from several folks in our congregation who have tested positive or who have been exposed- including possible exposures at church last Sunday. We are in the middle of the rise of Omicron, and we are not expected to peak until late January, according to Mayo Clinic.

If you are sick (even if you think it is allergies or stomach upset), please stay home. If you are immunocompromised, please stay home. If you have been around the sun a whole lot of times, please stay home. We still have our service up on YouTube every week. I do ask that you do not use the excuse of safety to skip church, only to go to restaurants, concerts, or fly across country. You are important to the St. Andrew's family.

For those of you who still feel safe coming to church, we will do everything we can to make church the safest place you can possibly be. Masks (worn correctly) will be strictly enforced. We will not be singing the next week or so. We are asking folks to sit distant from those not in their pod. I will do everything in my power to make sure we have a hybrid (online and in-person) worship service every Sunday.

We are already seeing exponential spread of this virus and it promises to get worse the next few weeks. Please hear your priest, who would love to see each and every one of you in church every Sunday, asking you to please take precautions (including staying home), get vaccinated or boosted, and love your neighbor.

God's Peace,
Mtr. Lisa Meirow
The Second Sunday after the Epiphany
Join us this Sunday at 10:30, online or in-person, as we worship together!

Due to the high rate of transmission of Omicron in Duval County and in our own parish, we have reimplemented our Covid-19 precautions:

• Masks are required in all indoor spaces. Masks must be worn over the nose and under the chin at all times.
• We are offering communion in one form - the bread.
• As always, whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated, if you are sick or feel unwell, please watch from home. Our virtual service is still online every Sunday.

This service will be live-streamed. Tune in at 10:30 am on the St. Andrew's Jax YouTube page. You can find the bulletin on the YouTube page or linked below.
And after the service, please take home a poinsettia to enjoy!
Family Game Night Cancelled
We'll be pressing pause on our Family Game Night this week. Stay tuned for our next one!
Adult Bible Study Online
This Sunday
Whether you are new to Bible study or have been studying the Bible for years, all are welcome to join us Sunday on Zoom at 9 am.
The office will be closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
DeColores All!

I just wanted to confirm that we are going forward with our Ultreya scheduled for Sunday, January 23rd at 4PM. We will use the same Covid protocols that we are using at our services, i.e. masks, but we're all used to that, aren't we. But, because of Covid, we will not hold a covered dish supper in Parish Hall after the service. Instead, we are planning a social time with beverages and maybe cookies under the Arbor on the side of the sanctuary, weather willing. Rose Reynolds and Carolyn Hartman are planning this so please ask them what you might do to help or furnish goodies.

It has been so long since we've had an Ultreya and worship with guitars and that joyous praise music. Let's give a warm welcome to the area's Cursillistas.

If you have any questions or suggestions, etc., just let Debi or me know.

Your Sisters in Christ,

Pam Stefansen and Debi Smith
Community Garden at St. Andrew's?
Do you like gardening? Would you like to learn how to grow your own food, or maybe show your kids or grandkids where their food comes from? Would you like to help our ministry partners feed Jacksonville?

St. Mary's Master Gardeners would like to help St. Andrew's create our own Community Garden to grow vegetables, fruits, and maybe even our own altar flowers! If you are interested, please let Mtr. Lisa know so we can schedule an informational meeting.
Thank You, St. Andrew's!
Arlington Community Services
We delivered over 60 pounds worth of food to Arlington Community Services this week!

Stay tuned for our February 13th Souper Bowl of Caring when we'll be collecting more food (and money) for Arlington Community Services.

Thanks to all the generous hearts who donated.

A Prayer For Our Next Bishop
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, we pray that you would look graciously upon the Diocese of Florida, and so guide the minds and hearts of the Nominating Committee as they prayerfully select candidates for the election of the next bishop of this diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: Guide also the minds and hearts of the candidates who will come before the Nominating Committee, that this process will be a time of discernment and growth in their lives and ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We all need extra prayer sometimes. If you or someone you love is in need of prayer, please submit your prayer request here: Prayer Request. We will publish the prayer list weekly so the entire parish can keep you in their prayers.
