Coming Up

We're Getting a Tenant!

It's official! On Our Way Learning Center is moving into Buildings D & E and will have offices in the first floor of the library. We're very excited to have this preschool joining us and to have more life on campus during the week.

Thank you Allan Dolman for brokering the deal, managing the renovations, and handling the details of this wonderful new chapter for our church.

Ladies Night In

Ladies Night In is Tuesday, May 23, at 6:00 pm in the parish hall. Cost of $20 includes the meal from Olive Garden and a book called Simple Mercies by the speaker, Lara Patangan.

Sign-up sheet is in the narthex. Deadline to sign up is Sunday, May 21. Give money to Carol Taylor; make checks out to St. Andrew’s and mark “ECW Ladies Night In."

Summer Lunch and Learn Series

Starting May 31st at 11:30 am, we'll be hosting a monthly Lunch and Learn in the Parish Hall! Bring a brown bag lunch and join us as we sit down to discuss the topic of the day.

May 31st: Funeral Planning

June 14th: Realm, Newsletter, & Other Tech Help

Come with ideas of other things you might want to learn about in July and August. If it doesn't work for a Lunch and Learn, we might use it for another class.

Want to be Baptized?

Entry into the church is always through the waters of Baptism. If you or someone you love desires to be baptized, please let Mtr. Lisa know!

Our next Baptism Sunday will be May 28th for Pentecost.

Pentecost Sunday!

Pentecost, May 28th, is the birthday of the Church and marks the anniversary of our first service in Arlington 62 years ago! Don't forget to wear your red and join us after the service for a very special picnic.

We'll enjoy a lunch of hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks- and you can help! Please bring your favorite side dish or a dessert to share. The Parish Hall will be open before the service so that you can drop it off. And if you want to help grill, please see Deacon Mike!

Gardening Help

Do you like to garden? Want to help beautify the campus for all to be reminded of God's creation? Would you like to maintain a beautiful spot for our souls laid at rest?

Join our Memorial Garden Care Crew! Come up once a month (or whenever you have time) and help pluck weeds, plant a few plants, and just generally spruce up the front of the church. We're in desperate need of a few able bodies to beautify the church. Contact Kathleen if interested.

UPDATE: Rebuild. Restore. Renew.

Last summer, we began seeking $30,000 to Rebuild, Restore, and Renew St.. Andrew's. And you went above and beyond pledging $97,240 - more than 3 times our ask!

As of today, we have (new items in bold):

  • Repaired one AC unit in the sanctuary and completely replaced another.
  • Started work on the library to get the building ready to rent.
  • Repaired the storm damage from Hurricane Ian.
  • Had 5 existing stumps ground to beautify the property.
  • Inspected all of the AC units on campus for expected life and repairs.
  • Purchased and installed a new amplifier for the sound system in the church.
  • Removed 12 trees which were dying and posed a threat to our buildings. Trimmed many more in order to make them hurricane ready.
  • Renovated our two daycare buildings and some office space in order to lease space to a local daycare, including new paint, new flooring, and replacing the toilets.
  • Renovated the kitchenette in Emmanuel Hall for receptions and coffee hour events.

Keep an eye out for more promised improvements over the coming months.

Need Mother Lisa's Phone Number?

Have you missed having a church directory? Do you think the church may not have your phone number right? Do you wish you could check your giving statement any time you want?

Log in to Realm today! Realm is a secure platform only for St. Andrew's members. You can find Mtr. Lisa's phone number, update your information, and even check your giving statement any time you want.

Come to our Lunch and Learn on June 14th if you need to get set up or have any questions.

(For those of you who cannot access Realm, Mtr. Lisa's business cards are now available in the Narthex).
