“Christianity Then and Now”

Eight Bi-Weekly Zoom Meetings September-December

What—exactly and in depth—is “Christianity” as a religion? How has it grown, flourished, and evolved, and is now approaching possibly terminal decline in our secular culture? What, if anything, might be done to help save it?

For each meeting we shall read and discuss with their author chapters of a short (44-pp.) booklet, Christianity Then and Now, by fellow parishioner and historian George McCully. Participants may attend any number of meetings. The booklet is a PDF document, freely downloadable HERE.

As part of our “Dover Unplugged” community outreach "Caring" series, meetings are open to the public, who are cordially invited to join us.

If you are interested in joining, please reply to gemccully@icloud.com by Monday, August 26th with your preferred evening(s) of the week to meet. Sessions will begin the week of September 23rd.

A Place to Turn Needs Diapers!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Diaper Project at A Place to Turn was able to provide nearly 200,000 diapers in 2023 last year to families facing financial hardship. Unfortunately, the demand for diapers has significantly increased, and last Thursday alone, they had 91 families seeking assistance.

As the need continues to rise, they are facing a critical shortage, particularly in sizes 4 and 6 diapers. Their current stock is depleted, and A Place to Turn cannot sustain purchasing diapers from their own funds to meet this demand.

If you can help them, there are three ways you could do it:

  • Bring diapers to church, and we’ll deliver them
  • Put a check in the plate made out to St. Dunstan’s with “diapers” in the memo line
  • Make a gift through Realm and choose A Place to Turn as the Fund.

Thank you for your support

Our Vision

We envision a Welcoming Community where all are accepted, valued, and loved, regardless of where they are with God; where we are Nourished by Worship in common prayer, deepening our connection with the Holy, so that refreshed and recharged, we may go out into the world "in peace, to love and serve the Lord"; where we are Growing in Faith through thoughtful questioning and mutual discussion, studying the Bible and Christian tradition from modern perspectives to seek higher and deeper truth; and where by Serving Our Neighbors and each other, we may follow Christ's way of love.
