Bob Howe is coordinating a Thanksgiving Meal Ministry; he will help match those who have room at their Thanksgiving dinner table with those looking for a place to share a holiday meal. Thanksgiving Day Morning Prayer Service

Carole Howe and Jeff Rockey will lead a Morning Prayer service at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 in the church. All are welcome.

There is still time to help three families
with holiday meal preparations & gifts,
focusing on minor children.

How you can Help ...

Look for the Christmas Tree at the Outreach Table

choose an ornament or two
to determine what you will contribute

Place small cash contributions
in the "holiday package" collection box
to be used to buy missing items or gifts.

Bring your contribution to the church
no later than Sunday, Dec. 13
to be assembled for distribution to families.

Buildings & Grounds ...

Buildings & Grounds Update:
We continue to face multiple physical plant challenges on our campus, including:

The metal gates near the parking lot: are being repaired.

Hammond Hall : roof leaks; we are in the process of receiving estimates for the work.

Church: roof leaks, wood rot, possible termites - Work is set to begin in December.

Academy:
Toilet repairs; completed this week;

Electrical outlets: repaired this week

Fire alarm panel challenges: We are receiving bids for replacement of fire alarm ducts (located on the roof) which have been triggering false alarms. We are billed for the false alarms. Eventually, we will also need to replace the fire alarm panel in the front hall.

We continue to strive to keep the campus as attractive and safe as possible. If you notice any issues or problems associated with the campus, please alert Pablo or a member of the bishop's committee or let Rev. Pat know asap. Thank you.

Rose, the 'Money Lady' says ...

This week the Bishop's Committee reviewed and approved October 2015 results. We are still operating in the red but our monthly shortfall is getting smaller.

If we compare October(2015) results to the previous year October (2014) - we are doing about $20,000 better. We had additional outside income (Koguma pre-school) and we cut our expenses by about $21,000.

We ended October with ($2,336). Detailed reports for October 2015 can be found at the communications table.

2016 Pledge Update

After only two weeks we are at 76.8 percent of our goal and we have only heard from 65 percent of our pledge family. As of November 18th our pledges are $198,192.

Thank you to all who have turned in their pledge cards. If you haven't already done so, please consider turning in your pledge card so that we can count you in.

As we continue to soar towards our Stewardship mission goal, keep the Church in your prayers.

Diocesan Convention Dec. 4-5 in Ontario to feature Presiding Bishop
Michael Curry

The 120th annual meeting

of the Diocese of Los Angeles is set for Dec. 4-5 at the Ontario Convention Center. Featured

speakers will be Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and the Rev. Dr. Renita Weems, a biblical scholar and minister in the AME Church. All are welcome to attend.
