Creating opportunities for faith in God
to be discovered, renewed and
put into action
Compline-by-Candlelight
Sunday, Jan. 8, 7:00 pm, Church
Drawn from the most contemplative of the monastic offices begun in the middle ages, Compline-by-Candlelight offers music from Gregorian Chant and early polyphony to the contemporary music of modern mystics. An offering of thanksgiving and a plea for peace, the voices of the Schola Cantorum of St. James, an all-professional choir of 12 voices, continues this tradition of night-prayer as an offering of tranquility for the whole community. Compline-by-Candlelight is a brief 25-minute service offered in St. James Church.

Organ Unloading
Monday, Jan. 23, 9:30 am - all day
Final Organ Installation Begins
The final delivery of pipes and hardware for our new pipe organ is nearly here, and just like last time, everybody is invited to help unload the large semi-truck. It will arrive during the night, and we will spend all day on Monday, January 23rd filling the church with all its contents. We will begin around 9:30am, and the process will take the whole day. So, come for all or part of the day any time. It will be a fun, once-in-a-lifetime experience to see all the inner parts of the new organ. Once they are installed in the organ chambers, we won’t do this again in our lifetimes!

Sunday, Jan. 1, Feast of the Holy Name
Your Name Here
On the Feast of the Holy Name, the Rev’d D. Rebecca Dinovo asks you to think on your name, what it means, and how your life may be revealed in it. She suggests we ask God “…to be revealed to you in new ways – and to reveal your purpose in new ways – so that God’s Name may be praised in you.”
