Creating opportunities for faith in God
to be discovered, renewed and put into action
A note from Father Mark:
Update on Indoor Worship
Sunday, May 16, 8:00 and 9:00 am

It was great to worship inside the church building on Sunday. I am grateful to all those who created such a safe and comfortable enviroment. We are in a time of transition. The move back to "normality" will be gradual. Things will be changing week to week. I appreciate your patience as we move back to familiar patterns and please feel free to pass on any comments that you may have. Several people have already spoken to me about the timings of the services. For the time being, for several reasons, these will remain at 8:00 am and 9:00 am, but be assured, it is not the long-term plan to stick with those times. The 8:00 am service this week will revert back to being a Rite 1 service.

The Blessed Group Gives Ministry in Midst of Grief, Death, and Loss
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
The Blessed Group formed many years ago when Blayney Colmore was the Rector, and the group reformed a few years ago under the leadership of Kay Scavulli, Jacqui McNally, Brenda Scott-Meade (with Blayney present half the year). The Blessed Group has a unique ministry and presence at St. James and the group has renewed relevance in our community because of the national (international) mourning the pandemic has brought. Come and learn more about this wonderful group from its leadership and members.

VBS 2021 - Uncle Sam Wants You!
Kids Pray Across The USA Vacation Bible School needs volunteers and Uncle Sam wants you. Okay maybe not Uncle Sam, but the VBS community of kids is growing and quickly and Miss Gabby is calling all able-bodied members of Saint James to pitch in for the effort. VBS will be a success, but we are going to need more volunteers.
There are numerous ways for you to be a part of the team. We need group leaders, station leaders, people to pray for us and with us and so much more. You never know what your time and talents can contribute. Email Miss Gabby today and find out how you can do your part for our boys and girls attending VBS July 19th - 23rd.

It was this time in 2018 that the Choir of St. James was joined by the American composer, Morten Lauridsen. Here is a playlist of the exact program they sang -- a memorable experience for all. Enjoy!

"Be a Mom"

On this Mother’s Day the Rev’d D. Rebecca Dinovo offers that we can take a cue from mothers everywhere “on how all of us are called to be mothers in the sense that as Christians, we’re all called to love and care for others.” She shows how we are all able to love others more deeply than we think we can.
