From the Rector's Desk:
Blessed to be a Blessing
|
This Sunday, All Saints' Day, at 10:15 am, we will baptize Robinson Myers, son of Jason and Allison, welcoming him into the household of God and blessing him to be a blessing. As a society, we have an anemic sense of blessing - just search #blessed. Blessing is a way of knowing; it is that which brings us face to face with the Lord who reveals God’s self and yet remains mysterious. In blessing, God turns toward God’s beloved creation, and we like sunflowers turning to face the sun are drawn toward God’s mysterious and life-giving light.

Annual Parish Census
Here at St. James' we are conducting an annual parish census. Through this process the vestry and staff can determine who is here, who considers St. James' their church. We can also confirm where we are and how best to get in touch with each other. We can size up who is involved in what.
This year's census provides a particularly important set of baseline information for us as we leave a period of transition and embark upon a season of growth. We are also implementing the use of a brand-new database, and there are a lot of questions we have never asked you.
Please take the time to fill out a form for each member of your household. Paper copies will be available at the church, but filling out this
online form
will provide us with the greatest ease in organizing your responses.
