Lifelong Learning Team Meeting

Care & Share!

We encourage members to share the bounty of their gardens with the community. Care and Share baskets can be found at the base of the altar on Sunday and also on the kitchen island. Deliveries to Gemma Moran Food Center are on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Thank you for sharing.

2024 Financial Audit

The St. Luke audit committee is presently working on conducting the 2024 financial audit. One part of this audit is to request that donors who made financial contributions to St Luke in 2024 confirm their giving amounts for the year to determine the accuracy of St. Luke’s records of giving amounts.

To do this, approximately 30 donors who made financial contributions in 2024 will be randomly selected from St. Luke’s records, and letters will be sent to these selected giving units with St. Luke’s record of the donation amount for the year. The donor will be asked to respond to the letter with either confirmation or not that the amount is correct as stated in the letter.

Letters will be emailed from audit@stlukegf.org to those for whom we have a valid email address, or will be sent via conventional snail-mail (hard copy) to those for whom we do not have a valid email address. Recipients may reply either via response to the email or by mailing back a hard copy to the church office.

Thank you for your support of the audit process.

Memorial Garden Needs Gardeners

Volunteers are invited to help maintain the beautiful St. Luke Memorial Garden. This space honors former members and is a quiet space for contemplation. Weekday work parties are held regularly during the growing season. Novice and experienced gardeners are welcome!

Please contact Sue Anderson at suea626@yahoo.com for more information.

Crisis Meal Ministry Needs Cooks

St. Luke has a meal ministry to provide simple meals for St. Luke members/families who are experiencing a crisis which makes meal preparation a burden that can be delegated. When help is needed, a volunteer on the Meal Ministry volunteer list will be contacted and asked to provide a meal or series of meals. Meals can be purchased or prepared at home. The meal is then delivered to the family's home or in some cases, the church kitchen for family pick-up. Food restrictions will be communicated to the volunteer. This is intended as a short-term intervention.

Thank you to all of our "silent" volunteers who respond to a call to prepare simple meals for St. Luke folks in need. Many of the folks who have provided meals in the past have moved away or have aged out. We are looking for people who are willing to continue this ministry.

Contact Sue Anderson if you can help continue this ministry.

Nursery Coverage Help Needed

We are in need of volunteers to help cover the nursery during worship. This is a simple yet hugely helpful way to support our young families during worship.

Until we hire a regular nursery attendant, we are counting on us…the people of St. Luke…to fill in gaps.

Many hands make light work! An opportunity for a multi-generational experience!

No kids? Experience the awesome kids of St. Luke! Empty nest? Relive the glory days! Grandkids far away? Practice grand parenting with the cuties of St. Luke! Worried that you’ll miss Worship? We are looking into mounting a SMART TV in the nursery so volunteers and the kids can experience the livestream.

Please consider helping out in the nursery. There is a sign-up sheet outside the Fellowship Hall. Volunteers have to be 18 OR under 18, paired with an adult.

Women's Group!

The St. Luke Women's Group meets on the

2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at

10:30 a.m. in Classroom 2.

Come join us and share your joys and concerns in a safe and supportive environment. We will review the scripture readings for the week and discuss their impacts on our lives today as well as how we can embody Jesus's teachings. This is an open invitation to female-identifying adults, and drop-ins are always welcome!

Picnic in the Park every Wednesday!

Join St. Luke members for Picnic in the Park every Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Erickson Park at 14 Military Highway in Gales Ferry!
