Hot Breakfast
There will be no breakfast this Sunday. The next breakfast will be, March 3, which will be provided by guest chefs, Nelson & Janice Toebbe.

Please plan on joining everyone in Board Hall between 8:30am and 9:45 where you will not only enjoy great food but a time for fellowship.

St. Luke's Annual Silver Tea Event
St. Luke's Annual Silver Tea will be THIS Sunday, February 17, in Board Hall following the 10:00am service.   St. Luke's has hosted the Silver Tea for over 45 years. Donations support Home of the Innocents which provides shelter and care for children who are without support when their families are in trouble. A representative for the Home will speak at the Tea.

This year's Tea reception will feature tea, coffee, wine, etc. and finger foods. Anyone who can donate, please bring finger foods to Board Hall. If you need child care, please contact the church office in advance and we will gladly provide it. Come enjoy the fellowship and participate in outreach.

In 2011, St. Luke's received the Childfriend of the Year award from Home of the Innocents for all the support we have given them over these many years. Let's generously support the Home again this year!

St. Luke's Silver Tea Committee: Caroline Eddleman, Jamiee Goodman, Dot Hood, Ann Phillips, Calvin Riley Pinney, Nancy Rath and Brenda Stettenbenz

Update on heating and cooling systems
You may have noticed recently that our buildings vary in temperature and fans are blowing. We have also had a spike in our electric bills. Please be patient while we work through diagnosing and correcting the systems to make sure we are comfortable, yet energy efficient. We ask that the thermostat and fan settings not be changed and that all lights are turned off when you leave.

If you notice any problems, please contact Brian Manlove on the Building and Grounds Committee at 512-777-8125. Note the area code is 512. Thank you for helping to take care of our beautiful facilities!

St. Luke's Book Club
YOU ARE INVITED to St Luke's Book Club on February 19 at 6:00.

Our book selection for February is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle written by David Wroblewski.
This book is, all at once, a mystery, a thriller, a ghost story, and a literary tour de force.  It is an authentic epic, long and lush, full of backstory and observed detail which mimics life.  Edgar was born mute, led an angelic life on a remote Wisconsin farm with some wonderful, unique Sawtelle dogs until his Father mysteriously died.  He and his mother attempted to continue the kennel operations and administration.  His Uncle started to help them and then...!

MEETING INFO : Lyman House, February 19, THIRD (3rd) Tuesday monthly at 6:00 PM for 2+- hours of rousing conversations and introductions to books of almost every genre. At the end of each meeting, we discuss books for the next month's selection, so bring your suggestions with you. We invite you to join us!

Daughters of the King
The St. Luke's Magnificat Chapter of the Daughters of the King will be offering training sessions for prospective members of our order this spring.  The trainings will be held on Sunday, February 24, right after the 10:00 service, March 12 at 6:30 during our regular monthly meeting, and Sunday, April 7 right after the 10:00 service.  The trainings usually last about 1 - ½ hours.

We have one lady who will participate in the training and would love to have more.   If you would like to know more about joining the order, please talk to any Daughter. Any lady interested in finding out more about our order and participating in the training, please let Chris Wilcox know - [email protected]
or 599-2950.

We have a wonderful sisterhood dedicated to serving the church in prayer, service and evangelism to further the mission of the church.

Centering Prayer
UPDATE ON LOCATION
Please join us for Centering Prayer on February 26, at 6pm at the Lyman House (church office) conference room.

We meet every fourth Tuesday of the month.

March 2 & 3 / Guest Preacher
On the weekend of March 2 and 3, we will welcome the Reverend Holly Ostlund as our preacher at all 3 of our Eucharist.

She will also offer a presentation at 9:00 on Sunday in Board Hall and give us an opportunity to ask questions.  An Episcopal priest, she speaks for the Third World destitute served by Food For The Poor, an interdenominational ministry providing food, clothing, medical care, housing, school supplies and economic development programs in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Rev. Holly travels most weekends for Food For The Poor introducing people of The First World to the people of The Third World.  Holly lives in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with her adult son, Grant and canine 'rescue,' Sahara.  Weekdays Holly is a Palm Beach County hospice chaplain

Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras
On Tuesday, March 5th, we will be holding our annual youth-sponsored Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras event.

Starting at 6pm in Board Hall, we'll honor the traditional eating of breakfast for dinner.  There'll be plenty of live music on the stage, and a King & Queen cake, complete with a hidden baby Jesus, so that we can crown our new Shrove Tuesday royalty.
Contributions will be taken at the door, and all profits will be used for youth outreach efforts.  The youth of Anchorage Presbyterian will be working with ours for this event.  We know that will make it even more crowded than usual, but don't let that dampen your enthusiasm.

Let's make a good showing to welcome our guests and support the youth of both congregations.

Ash Wednesday Services
On Wednesday, March 6th, we will begin a holy observance of Lent with Ash Wednesday.  Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion will be offered at 7am, 12noon, and 7pm.

We encourage everyone to participate in this act of penitence and perspective-building, as we are all reminded that each of us "is dust, and to dust shall return."

Please mark your calendars for our 6 th concert season 2019
These events will begin at 5:00 pm:
