Flower Guild Needs YOU
We need a flower arranger to join the group.

You will be scheduled to arrange flowers every 10 weeks so you would only be on just a handful of times a year and you will be trained, so if you would like to join us, please call Dawn in the office at 245-8827, ext. 10.

Confirmation Class
We will be scheduling a class soon.

Be watching for emails and announcements!

Please consider being an Ushers
If you are interested in being an usher, please let Dawn in the church office know.

We will schedule a brief overview session and you will be totally comfortable with what's expected. We encourage women and couples to join the usher ministry.

HomeLife Event Calendar
I am happy to compile events going on in the lives of our parishioners that they would like for other parishioners to support/attend, such as musical recitals, sporting events, business openings, craft shows, horse shows, etc.

For example, if I had a booth at the Cherokee Art Festival and wanted everyone to support me, that could be something we could add to the weekly email, bulletin and/or website.

Hope this explains what I am trying to do. People can send their events to me at scmbem@yahoo.com
and I can get them to you.

Thanks! Shaun McEntire

Youth Event
Our youth will be teaming up with Anchorage Presbyterian Youth to help with Supplies Over Seas Saturday March 30th at 9 Am- Noon.

We will meet 1500 Arlington Ave.  Email Jenni Anderson at jjander00287@gmail.com for RSVP and any questions.

Diaper and Wipes Drive
In honor of Mother's Day the DOK is sponsoring a parish wide diaper and wipes collection to benefit the mother's serviced by Eastern Area Community Ministries (EACM).

Significant budget cuts have adversely affected EACM. Diapers and wipes are desperately needed as these items cannot be purchased with food stamps. Sizes most needed are size 4, 5, and 6. Wipes are also needed.

Please leave your donations in Board Hall. Collection will continue from now until Mothers Day on May 12th.

Your support is greatly appreciated! For questions contact Patti LaMontagne (502) 338-2472.

Daughters of the King
The St. Luke's Magnificat Chapter of the Daughters of the King will be offering training sessions for prospective members of our order this spring.  The last training will be Sunday, April 7 right after the 10:00 service.  The training usually last about 1 - ½ hours.

We have one lady who will participate in the training and would love to have more.   If you would like to know more about joining the order, please talk to any Daughter. Any lady interested in finding out more about our order and participating in the training, please let Chris Wilcox know - Christine.wilcox@twc.com
or 599-2950.

We have a wonderful sisterhood dedicated to serving the church in prayer, service and evangelism to further the mission of the church.

St. Luke's Music Series
Two events remain for the spring season:

Sunday, March 31 at 5:00 pm, we'll present a special service of Lenten Meditations and Carols, similar to the more familiar Christmas Lessons and Carols format.  This service is modeled after one sung at St. John's College, Cambridge.

Glenna Metcalf, Organist at Broadway Baptist Church, Louisville, will present an organ recital of Lenten music at 5:00 pm; then at 5:30 pm St. Luke's choir will present Lenten anthems paired with contemplative readings, both scriptural and poetic as we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world.  Anthems by William Byrd, Antonio Lotti, Brench Boden, George Oldroyd and Cristobal de Morales, as well as familiar hymns will be sung.

This service will be a wonderful centering experience as we prepare for Holy Week and Easter at a lovely and quiet time of the day.

Please mark your calendars and save the dates for these two events and help us spread the word about St. Luke's wonderful concert series.

Flowering of the Cross
Children, on Easter Day, please bring a few flowers (3 - 5) for the "Flowering of the Cross".

When Fr. Michael invites you to, come forward and place your flowers onto our cross making it come "ALIVE".

After the service, we will carry it outside in front of the church for the community to enjoy.

Memorial Easter Lilies
If you would like to help beautify our church for Easter with Easter lilies, please pick up an Easter Memorial envelope and mail with a check for $10.35 each to the office or drop it into the offering plate. (please write flower fund on the memo line of your check).

They are hardy for this climate and can be planted outside when they are finished blooming.

The deadline for ordering is Sunday, April 14, in order to get your memorial in print. Envelopes for the special memorials are located at both narthex entrance tables. The price per potted lily is $10.35.

Easter Music Memorials
You may make a memorial donation to the St. Luke's music program (please write Music Memorial on the memo line of your check).

The deadline for placing your memorial is Sunday, April 14, in order to get your memorial in print though you may make a donation at any time.

Envelopes for the special memorials are located at both narthex entrance tables.

Decorating for Easter
The flower guild will be decorating the church on Saturday, April 20, at 9am.

Everyone is invited to help. Please join us as it is a gratifying and fun time.

Undecorating the church
will take place on Sunday, April 28, following the 10am service.

You may pick up your lilies in the parish hall at that time. Remember, they are hardy and can be planted outside.
