MAY ALL MOTHERS HAVE A
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
THIS SUNDAY

Sunday Breakfast
There will be No breakfast this Sunday due to Mother's Day. The next breakfast will be Sunday, May 19,
which will be provided by guest chef, Celia Manlove.

We will continue our class on early church history led by Dr. Dave Kirchinger.

Please plan on joining everyone in Board Hall between 8:30am and 9:45 where you will not only enjoy great food but a time for fellowship.

Diaper and Wipes Drive
In honor of Mother's Day the DOK is sponsoring a parish wide diaper and wipes collection to benefit the mother's serviced by Eastern Area Community Ministries (EACM).

Significant budget cuts have adversely affected EACM. Diapers and wipes are desperately needed as these items cannot be purchased with food stamps. Sizes most needed are size 4, 5, and 6. Wipes are also needed.

Please leave your donations in Board Hall. Collection will continue from now until Mothers Day on May 12th.

Your support is greatly appreciated! For questions contact Patti LaMontagne (502) 338-2472.

Beloved Melodies and Songs of Faith
Sunday, May 19, 4pm, Highland Presbyterian Church located at 1011 Highland Avenue.

Performing music based on well-known and beloved melodies, Robert Bozeman and Faith Aeilts present a varied concert of music by Bach, Handel, Burleigh, Sanborn and others. They will be assisted by Jason Wade
violin, performing a solo version of Largo from Serse and several arrangements of hymn-tunes for violin and organ.

Lisa Lewis joins Robert for the rousing "Variations on an Easter Theme for Organ Duet" by John Rutter.

The concert is free. A reception follows.

St. Luke's Book Club
YOU ARE INVITED to St Luke's Book Club on
May 15 at 7:00.

MEETING INFO : Lyman House, May 15, THIRD (3rd) Wednesday monthly at 7:00 PM for 2+- hours of rousing conversations and introductions to books of almost every genre. At the end of each meeting, we discuss books for the next month's selection, so bring your suggestions with you. We invite you to join us!

Spring Foyer Groups Sign-Up
Foyer Groups are groups of 6-8 (could be more) people that meet for a meal (at someone's home or at a restaurant). Every person (or couple) takes a turn arranging a meeting.  After the Spring meetings, new groups will begin in the Winter.

Besides having fun and getting to know each other, Foyer Groups offer an excellent opportunity to discuss where our church is now, where it is going and how we feel.   Of course, the groups have no assigned topics and people may just want to let the conversations ramble and flow, laugh and have a good time.

Sign-ups will go through May, with sign up sheets at both narthex entrances.

Call Calvin Riley Pinney: 245 1623 or Caroline Eddleman: 253-0135 for information or questions.

Lay Pastoral Care Ministry
Pastoral care is a ministry provided by volunteer parishioners to individuals needing home, hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation facility visitations.

Arrangements can be made for communion and meals as requested.

All information is confidential unless you give permission to share with others. CALL THE CHURCH OFFICE TO LET US KNOW YOUR NEEDS.

Reminder, if you do go to the hospital, let the hospital know your church affiliation or try to have your caregiver do so. Our ministry is here for you in time of need so remember to call the church office at 245-8827 or e-mail at [email protected]
